El Pasaje Mediterraneo, en El Pasaje Enriquez — Restaurant in Municipio de Quetzaltenango

The staff was very nice and the location is convenient to the park. BUT the food was so not anything resembling Mediterranean and was very disappointing. I ordered a gyro 🥙 which should look like a sandwich, but it was 3 patties of meat with two pieces of lettuce and a few thin slices of Roma tomato alongside some baguette (the baguette was yummy). The tzatziki like sauce was a peppered mayonnaise that has no business in a gyro. What is disappointing is that all of the ingredients for a really amazing gyro are here in xela - the fresh cucumbers, dill, garlic, and yogurt for a killer tzatziki, fresh greens tomatoes and onions to dress the meat, and a great tradition of bread making here in the city for delicious pita bread, not to mention that switching out the sad little patties for grilled chicken would be a solid...

The room and service were very lovely. However the food was so disappointing. The Spanish omelette was nothing like anything I've ever eaten in Spanish...and really over priced.
