I have been wanting to try this place; even though they had so few reviews. The menu is extensive. They close early at 5:00 pm and I didn’t know that so I kept missing them. Today I found them open at breakfast so decided to stop. I was not disappointed. The food was delicious, well prepared and the young man serving had an extremely good grasp of English. Now that I know their hours I will be back during my stay here in San Juan, to sample their dinner.
Note: I returned today to sample their lunch / dinner menu and had the pasta primavera. At the risk of sounding dramatic it was unbelievable. “Kevin” the young man working front of house said they make it themselves. I added pollo to my pasta as I like protein. I have been here two weeks and eat every meal out. La Farfalla is my favorite overall restaurant in San Juan.
02/2024 - I have now eaten here, it is safe to say, a couple dozen times; sometimes twice in one day. I have NEVER been disappointed in quality, quantity, value, or service. The only reason I can ever see someone posting a 4 star or less is because they have an issue with posting 5 stars…period. Hands down the most consistent and best place overall in San Juan. 🙌🏼
PS - Keep in mind this is a Momma and son run restaurant that seats 14 people. If you are in a hurry you might want to come back when you are not pressed for time. Also, it is on one of the main streets in the village so road noise, at...

My farfalla especial was exceptional - the flavour of the potatoes was second to none. The value for money is far better than other places closer to the pier. The hot chocolate was so yummy and a perfect accompaniment to my breakfast and having tried bits and pieces of the other meals can safely say they are delicious too! If in San Juan I urge you to walk the extra mile to experience this warm welcoming...
Read moreThis hole in the wall can be found off San Juan’s main street. As a result, I can imagine it doesn’t get much foot traffic. And what shame this is. I highly encourage you to look beneath the surface and dine at this establishment. The son is very attentive and speaks English extremely well, while his mother cooks the extremely fresh and tasty dishes. A variety of breakfast and lunch options are available and appear to be cooked to order. I would also highly recommend the chocolate con leche, which was delightful. You really can’t go wrong with Guatemalan...
