By far, The Hidden Garden is my favorite place to be on Lake Atitlan. It's how I start almost every day. Everything I've ordered has been absolutely delicious. Their menu caters to all. They have gluten-free and vegan options a long with options for those who enjoy meats. Their coffee is farm to cup, grown on a chemical/pesticide free land at 6000ft. I have yet to have a better coffee/expresso, not just in Guatemala, but everywhere I have traveled or lived, then I have gotten from The Hidden Garden. To them, coffee isn't just a drink but an art that has been masterfully perfected, and it shows in the taste. Their baked goods are always delicious as well, with plenty of gluten-free and vegan options to choose from that you'd never be able to tell were GF/Vegan if you didn't know. I honestly can't choose a favorite dessert. Have online work to get done? Use their free and unthrottled Starlink connection while enjoying a cup of coffee and a snack. They have three wonderful dogs and a cat who wanders around if you need some animal love to further brighten your day. The only complaint I have is that they're only open until 2pm but have talked with the owners who have said they will be extending their hours shortly.

My family has been traveling in Guatemala for 10 days and San Marcos was our last spot. The kids were super tired after walking around all morning and The Hidden Garden was the perfect choice for the whole family to reset and relax. The food was delicious, fresh, and full of colorful fruits and vegetables, and the setting was truly tranquil. Would certainly recommend to anyone! (Initially I made this review to get a free cookie for my son, but didn’t realize I also had to post to my social media accounts also. That was too much to ask, but I would have made this review anyway. Great spot.)

We came here a couple times during our visit to San Marcos and LOVED everything about it. The food is delicious, the atmosphere is really incredible, and feels truly like a little hidden gem. They have both vegan and veg options, as well as GF alternatives. While we were here we had the gnome bowl, the enchanted eggs, the Samaya latte, and the blueberry bowl. Portions are a good size and definitely filling! There also 3 dogs and a cat on the property who LOVE people 😁🥰🐶 so if you’re an animal lover this is the spot for you! Worth a visit for sure!

Very unfriendly service. I walked in and gave the server a friendly “hola”. I wasn’t offered a menu or to take a seat so I found the English menus at the register and chose what I wanted while the server just stood staring at me. Tried to pay with card and was given a pitying look and told they weren’t accepted, fair enough. I paid in cash and she just left my change and a table number on the counter, no please or thanks from the waitress once and she turned her back to make my coffee. Coffee tasted burnt but the breakfast burrito was delicious and filling and the other local members of staff were friendly when delivering the food. Full of North Americans, including the server - got the feeling they would be friendlier if you were one of their hippie San Marcos crew and not just a tourist but maybe they are just miserable to their...

The Hidden Garden in San Marcos is a true gem! Tucked away from the hustle and bustle, this garden oasis is the perfect place to relax and unwind. The ambiance is enchanting, with lush greenery, cozy seating areas, and a warm, welcoming vibe.

The food is outstanding, with a menu that offers fresh, flavorful options that cater to a variety of tastes. Each dish is crafted with care, and you can taste the quality in every bite. Their coffee is a must-try—smooth, rich, and tastyyy. Alsoo the homemade sweet treats and a Nantli Cacao bar where you can get a warming and delicious cup of cacao🥰

Whether you're there for breakfast, brunch, or just a coffee break, The Hidden Garden is a spot you'll want to return to again and again. A true sanctuary with great food, wonderful coffee, and an atmosphere that’s...
