By far, The Hidden Garden is my favorite place to be on Lake Atitlan. It's how I start almost every day.
Everything I've ordered has been absolutely delicious. Their menu caters to all. They have gluten-free and vegan options a long with options for those who enjoy meats.
Their coffee is farm to cup, grown on a chemical/pesticide free land at 6000ft. I have yet to have a better coffee/expresso, not just in Guatemala, but everywhere I have traveled or lived, then I have gotten from The Hidden Garden. To them, coffee isn't just a drink but an art that has been masterfully perfected, and it shows in the taste.
Their baked goods are always delicious as well, with plenty of gluten-free and vegan options to choose from that you'd never be able to tell were GF/Vegan if you didn't know. I honestly can't choose a favorite dessert.
Have online work to get done? Use their free and unthrottled Starlink connection while enjoying a cup of coffee and a snack.
They have three wonderful dogs and a cat who wanders around if you need some animal love to further brighten your day.

I wasn’t offered a menu or to take a seat so I found the English menus at the register and chose what I wanted while the server just stood staring at me. Coffee tasted burnt but the breakfast burrito was delicious and filling and the other local members of staff were friendly when delivering the food. Full of North Americans, including the server - got the feeling they would be friendlier if you were one of their hippie San Marcos crew and not just a tourist but maybe they are just miserable to their...
