Nice cosy restaurant, offering a great selection of Spanish style tapas.
We ordered: Padron peppers; Aubergine and goats cheese; Patatas tinto; King oyster mushroom; Tomato bread.
Unfortunately, despite being listed under 'vegetables' the Patatas tinto come with bacon mixed in. We're vegetarian (as the other options would suggest) and when we raised this and the fact that they're in the 'vegetable' section of the chalk board (which serves as the menu), the waitress said she'd raise this.
She was at no point rude, and had been friendly up until this point, but there was no offer of removing them from the bill even though we said we couldn't eat them. Perhaps it was perception, but the waitress did seem to avoid us after this, and we had to approach the bar to order our dessert.
We didn't want to push the issue, as we were with friends that were local, but this did unfortunately sour an otherwise...

Little did we know, when some locals invited us to join them, that we'd stumbled into the best tapas bar I've ever been to!! And trust me when I tell you, I've eaten at the best (San Sebastian, Madrid, Lisbon....etc). This quaint unassuming oasis serves the tenderest, tastiest, tapas, timed and tuned tempronilla (stars aligned) from heaven! Can't wait to come...

Fantastic selection of tapas which all tasted great - if the Alderney beef croquettes are on the specials menu then order them!!
You can’t book so turn up early. But the staff will make every effort to fit you in.
