This place looked ideal. Lovely decor and appealing surroundings. Unfortunately, looks can be deceiving. We were a party of 8 - so not an insubstantial amount of business. When ordering drinks they had run out of one particular beverage so we got 2 not 3 yet they charged us for 3. One food order was for a sandwich which we clearly stated could not have butter on it. Yes, you guessed it was thick with butter, which would have made that particular diner very ill. Another diner ordered risotto which came with the addition of a black hair in it! See photo below. The replacement food took ages to arrive, in fact everyone else had finished, even though we had been told it would be quicker than the original order. Finally we paid in cash to the nearest pound, as we did not feel the service was worth a gratuity. No change was brought back to us. Cheeky at best. The one star is for the decor and views over the harbour. The actual food was just standard. We ended our Guernsey trip on a low thanks...

I ate here in the evening on Friday 17th May on my last night of a week's holiday in St Peter Port. I had three courses and each course was delicious. I started with the Guernsey Scallops Wrapped in Pancetta, Black Pudding and Cauliflower Pureè. Then I had an exquisite Roast Monkfish, Saffron, Sun-blushed Tomato, Chorizo and Crab Risotto. Finally I had the “Le Hechet” Farm Guernsey Ice Cream. All three courses were very tasty and it was probably the best meal I'd had in Guernsey during my week on the island. The staff waiting on me were very attentive and prompt. This made my dining experience very pleasurable as I was not waiting long between courses and when I needed to pay and leave this was also dealt with promptly. My only slight criticism would be that I had hoped to enjoy a locally brewed beer with my meal but was told that the restaurant did not have any local beers so I ended up drinking 1664 instead when I'd have preferred a beer from White Rock or Randall's or...

Rang a few minutes ago for a table of 12 and was told they had space. Walked in to be told there was no space and that there was only 1 female working there and she claimed she hadn't spoken to us. We showed them the number we rang and they confirmed it was theirs. They saw we had children so refused to seat us. Bad service Response to owners response- once again you're lying. I had children with me and we don't 'storm' out. We do not want the children seeing that kind of behaviour. No tables were offered close together. The children were very hungry so would have taken any tables if they were offered. Please don't lie to make yourself look good. I read through some reviews and there was also a lady who said pretty much much exactly the same thing but she was a lone woman. You're after a certain look and you didn't get that with our children. This is all I'm saying as I'm not going back and forward with someone who is trying to save their...

We really enjoyed our food at Christie’s. We had the crab sandwich and chips which were both excellent. The crab sandwich comes with an absolutely lovely lemon mayo which compliments it perfectly. The chips were some of the best I’ve ever had - so crisp! The coffee was not quite as good, mine was meant to be a caramel latte but was overloaded with syrup so wasn’t that nice. We felt a bit unwelcome as we hadn’t made a booking, but we were found a table nonetheless.
