My fiancé and I visited and inquired about a wedding dinner. We were told our preferred date works great, and were given a tour, with details down to the cutlery being discussed. As such, we booked the wedding and sent out invitations. Then, out of the blue, we received an email informing us that “a mistake was made on our part, we don’t do weddings in June. You’ll have to find another place”.

It’s shocking to me that a restaurant that apparently has prestige and should hold itself to a certain standard would admit to a mistake, but rather than make an exception or offer help in any way, simply send us away. My family and I are incredibly disappointed, not only at the loss of the booking, but at the way we were treated. Complete and utter lack of professionalism and respect.

Edit: your comment on this review does not address my main point: the fact that you do not do weddings in the “summer season” is not what we were told when we were there. Your colleague took out a calendar, looked at it, and said June 6th was perfect. The fault is on your part, and you did not admit to it, but rather forced us to reorganise everything we had booked and planned after we were told that the date...

We visited on a Sunday afternoon and were greeted by the most delightful waitress – honestly, thanks to her, the whole dinner was even more enjoyable. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen so much joy on someone’s face and in the way they carried themselves.

The main course… well, I’d call it rather unique, but it was pure heaven for the taste buds. The meat was cooked to perfection with just the right accompaniments. For dessert, we couldn’t resist ordering “a little bit of everything” – Dobos cake, pancakes – but my heart was completely stolen by the homemade cottage cheese puff pastry. I’m still thinking about it today! Huge thanks to both the waitress and the waiter for patiently explaining what this magical creation actually was, so I can try to recreate it 600 km away and relive at least a piece of that moment.

And did I mention already how amazing the service team was that day? I adored them! Honestly, it’s been ages since I’ve seen restaurant staff who actually looked like they enjoyed their job. If only I could bottle their energy and sprinkle it on other restaurants… the world would be a much...

Definitely one of the top 10 meals we ever had! At first we were a little uncomfortable because we were the only guests at this lovely place on a Friday night but the warm welcoming smile of our waitress made us feel right at home. We started with a nice glass of Hungarian bubbles on the terrace before taking it inside as the sun went down. Our mains were like a painting on the plate and with every bite a new discovery. Desserts were just as beautiful as they were tasty and the glass of Tokaj dessert wine made the perfect end to a memorable evening.
