"I recently dined here and unfortunately had a less than satisfactory experience. The staff's behavior was quite rude, and their lack of cooperation was disappointing. I believe that good customer service is essential in any dining establishment, and this was sorely lacking during my visit.

During my recent visit, my party and I experienced an extended wait at the billing counter. While I fully understand the need to accommodate separate billing for the group before us, it became somewhat confusing as we patiently waited in the queue. It might be beneficial to consider processing orders in the order they are received to minimize any misunderstandings in the future.

Regarding the policy on multiple card payments, I appreciate your explanation. However, it would have been even more appreciated if this policy could be communicated with a touch more politeness. In addition to this, we also noticed that the service at our table was not as attentive as we had hoped. We found ourselves going to the reception to give our orders and even picking up items like salt and condiments ourselves. Lastly, while we understand the inclusion of service charges, we felt that the level of service we received didn't entirely justify it, which felt a bit unfair. We came here especially because of the high reviews and we craved some Indian food. We were welcomed to a warm restaurant that may have been to warm due to the air-conditioning not working. We ordered some samosas and mango lassi for starters and continued to browse the manu. By the time the lassi arrived we were ready to order the rest of the food. The starters were yet to arrive and we were getting hungry. After about twenty something minutes the samosas arrived but it wasn't for twenty something minutes more until the mains arrived. Together woth the tikas and the curries we ordered rice and bread. The dishes arrived before the rice, one of the rice bowls didn't arrive and my dish got to the table almost ten minutes after the rice. Most of us were almost finished with the food and the rice still didn't arrive. The waiter assured us a couple of times that the basmati rice is indeed on it's way but by the time it arrived we were too mad to be happy about it. The whole experience felt like an eternity and even the bill took forever to arrive. If it wasn't so hot maybe we would have been more chill but the negligence was too much to bare. I've tried many of the Indian restaurants in Budapest, and we have enjoyed them all, but Haveli definitely rises above the others. Primarily southern Indian cuisine, with an assortment of dishes from other regions, we found the food to be superbly prepared with very authentic flavors. Every dish we tried brought a smile to our faces.

For this first visit we tried the Chana chaat to start, followed by the Achari chicken kebab for our meat course accompanied by the Punjabi chole (chickpeas), the Haveli special sarso ka saag (spinach), some cumin-flavored Jeera rice and the nut-butter-stuffed Peshwari naan (bread). The dishes were all spiced "normal," and the portions were generous. The Chana chaat was very fresh tasting with a very interesting flavor that included fennel and lemon juice and other spices. The meat and vegetable dishes each had flavorings so distinctive we wanted to eat each dish separately to get the full experience. The mango lassi was quite good, too. We were much too full to even think about dessert.

The service level was well above average and friendly, the atmosphere cozy (although it can be noisy near the bar). All-in-all, a very pleasant and delicious experience. We will definitely be back soon. English spoken and Visa/Mastercard accepted. Service charge included...
