MaMaison Residence Izabella Budapest — Hotel in Budapest

Lovely hotel with large clean rooms. Nice front desk staff. Good location in a quiet area. There's a lot to like about this hotel and I would give a 5 star rating, but we had issues with our specific room that made our stay less enjoyable. The front desk staff is very good and did their best to help us but we were only staying 1 night. We booked our room to stay 1 night in Budapest, after a river cruise, to regroup before continuing on with the rest of our vacation. We specifically booked at Izabella for the in room washer/dryer. The in room w/d is a combo unit, common in Europe. I've used similar units before with no issues. The washer worked well but we could not get the dryer to work. The front desk clerk was also unable to get the dryer to work so he allowed us to use the hotel's dryer in the basement. This all took awhile - We cancelled our dinner plans and ordered take out in order to be able to do some laundry. We were only able to do 2 small loads of laundry during our stay. Note: there is a drying rack in the bathroom; however, we were leaving early the next morning so there wasn't time to hang dry. ||We also could not get the A/C to work so we opened the balcony doors to cool the room. While the area is quiet, we experienced the usual city noise, and unfortunately, a group of guests, woke us a little after midnight, talking loudly for about 20 minutes. I tried shutting the door but the room got too warm.||The other issue we had was very strong food odor coming from an adjoining room. The smell dissipated after about 2 hours with the balcony door open.||I believe the issues were specific to our room as our friends in the room next door didn't have trouble with smells or a/c. I feel sure the staff would have tried to resolve the issues if we were there longer.||I'm unsure whether to recommend this hotel - It was not a satisfactory stay for us but there was a lot to like about the hotel in the right...

I had many-many nights in the hotel and honestly: they have the best and most lovely staff at the reception! Whatever requests I had (technical or other small comfort) everything was done without reminding or threatening with the "Management...".||||The apartments (not rooms - much bigger spaces indeed!) which I had my nights are fully equipped including kitchenware, microwave-oven, smart TV, beds for three people. What else you want?||||The location is absolutely perfect, a world-class pizzeria is right in the building just like a lovely authentic polish donut-kiosk. Warsaw city center is about 50m walk away. The surrounding is calm, no extra night life that would keep you up in the night with loud noises.|| ||The only (and really minor) point for which I scored 4 is that there are some marks of the ages - I mean some wear and tear on the doors, carpet etc... Nothing I could not simply ignore or would not live with, just for fact: I do not want to give 5 scores for a places which has some glitches. I came in Jan and stayed there for 7 months. Place is comfy, staff are very friendly and helpful.

At the beginning I got a classic suite on the 5th floor, it was nice but it had no balcony, when I asked to get another one with balcony and washing machine, they immediately tried to help and in 3 days I moved to another suite with a big balcony and a washing machine. When I had visitors, they provided extra bed and towels even on short notice. They even provided me with a storage space to keep my car winter tires with no extra fee.

There's also sauna and reasonable gym. Location is great, in the heart of the city, everything is a short walking distance away (Herao square, Oktogon, Westend Mall, Andrassy street....and more), and at the same time it's not noisy as other places down town.

Overall, it's not a fancy place, but it's a great place for singles and for families, I really enjoyed my stay, and would definitely...
