Morzsa greeted us tonight with a great food and a welcoming atmosphere. However, as the night went on, things did not quite go as expected.
First, dessert. We had been looking forward to "mákos guba," but just before it was served, we were informed that it would be pancakes with poppy seeds instead. While we appreciated the heads-up, it was more of a last-minute notification than a choice, as no alternative was offered when we hesitated. We wondered what would have happened if we didn't agree...
Then came the bill. A glass of wine was missing from the total, so we pointed it out. It was corrected without issue, but it was still something we had to catch ourselves.
The most unexpected moment, however, was the gift card. We were given a 25,000 HUF voucher (mix up with their restautant card) which seemed like a generous surprise. But when we later asked how it worked, we were told it had been given to us by mistake. It was an odd twist to the evening—pleasant at first, only to be taken back.

Read moreI would give 0 stars if I could. After eating half of my pastry I noticed it had a hair melted with the sugar coat on the top of it. We complained about it, and were treated very irrespectfully by the owner. He said that it was a fibre from a kitchen cloth, and that it was perfectly edible. He said that it is not worthy of a refund, but that he would eat it in front of us as a compensation. Simply disgusting. It is understandable that a fibre can fall in the pastry (it was a person's hair for sure), but after complaining and explaining it is not supposed to be eaten, the owner said that I should have just taken the piece out and finish it. He only offered us another pastry after mistreating us, just when we were leaving (which of course we did not take). The place was really dissapointing, mostly the customer service. If you are expecting to have a great time, the place is a 100% not recommendable. Although we enjoyed the food, our overall experience was disappointing. Just as we were about to leave, a staff member approached our table, informing us that they had mistakenly charged only 70% of the full price and asked us to pay the difference, which we did immediately. Admittedly, we should have reviewed the original bill more carefully, but it was never actually presented at the time of payment. After some calculations, it became clear that they had indeed made an error. When we pointed this out, not only did they fail to apologize for the inconvenience, but the owner explicitly suggested that we should simply leave—though he did “generously” give back 2000 HUF from his own pocket.
Mistakes happen, and I understand that, but with a bit more courtesy in handling the situation—and at least an apology—we would have been happy to return...
