We are from Australia and visited Szeged to see family. They took us to Belvárosi Cukrászda to sample the famous Hungarian kremes. They told us Belvárosi Cukrászda was the best kremes in Szeged and they were right! The light and flaky pastry was absolutely delicious, and the vanilla custard was exquisite! We continued our travels through Hungary and tried several more kremes, but this was the best of them all.

Best place in Szeged to eat one of the best Hungarian traditional pastries, the rétes! The other traditional pastry is the krémes, that is also very delicious! It's a great place to have your morning coffee with some pastry!

Café pâtisserie, spécialisé dans les viennoiseries locales (rétes, kifli, hó kifli...). Le ristretto était parfait quoique servi avec un verre d'eau salée (genre saint yorre). Les rétes au pavot comme au noix étaient excellents. Un bémol sur le kifli au pavot que j'ai trouvé une peu trop sec. La salle est accueillante, tout comme la dame derrière le comptoir.

Great athmosphere, friendly and helpful stuff but need to come early in order to taste all the variety if strudel they offer on paper: they can easilz run out of variety. Besides all this their ricy-peach and apple studel has no pair in this town! Highly...

Sajnálatos módon az intézmény jelen pillanatában nem felel meg a cukrászda jelzőnek. Ugyanis a helyszínre belépvén csak réteseket, kétféle süteményt és sósakat láttam, de semmi mást. Mire gondolok? Egy cukrászdában tortaszeletekre, mousse és egyéb édességekre számítok, pláne, ha ilyen patinás helyen található. A hiányolt termékek a beltéri információs táblán is szerepelnek, de csak az írás őrzi a jelenlétüket, a pultok kínálata nem.

Ebből fakadóan nagy csalódottsággal jöttem el, s inkább titulálom a helyszínt rétesháznak, vagy hasonlónak, mint cukrászdának. Nagyon sajnálom, nagy várakozásokkal telítvén vártam a cukrászati finomságok felfedezésének felemelő érzését. De e helyett, csak a csalódottság mardosó posványában...
