Promenade — Restaurant in Szentendrei járás

We waited 1 hour for the food, after that we asked the waiter to bring the bill for the drinks, cuz we do not want to wait. Than misteriously he came back 5 min later with our food, unfortunatelly, cuz it was terrible. The table was also dirty, they didnt clean it after the people before us left. The glasses were also dirty and had red wine smell and stains on it. Also, after we sat down, we didnt even get a menu btw, but the waiter came and asked what we would want to drink. I told him first a menu maybe, so that i can see what i can even order… than he said we dont have enough menus, so tell me what you want. We should have stood up at this moment, i know.. While eatintg, other people were also complaining about the long waiting time and all of them left without waiting for the food.

All in all, it is extremely overpriced (a steak costs 7k HUF, for which price btw you can have a Michelin star main course in Etyek……), the food was tasteless and terrible, and the place was dirty. I cannot understand how this place can go on after all these years. I would never recommend it to anyone. That one star goes for the location and the area, cuz it is beautiful. Such a waste of location for this...

For the service they provide, even one star is too much! A total mess! The food is average and doesn’t worth the price! Never ever again! We got our order after 2 hours, in the beginning we were patient, weather was nice, the view nice, even my 10 years old son was patiently waiting for his duck leg dish. Then we noticed the table next to us, who actually came at least 20 minutes after us, receiving very fast their order ( of course duck leg) and even finished their dishes before we got ours. I was sorry for my son who was hungry and felt disappointed ☹️ There were at least 3 other tables around us in our situation and the whole atmosphere was tense. After the first hour of waiting we complained and wanted to pay for the drinks and leave but the guy who was serving (can not call him waiter) said 5 more minutes and the food is ready... and 5 minutes it happened to be 50 more minutes! At the end we mentioned that we don’t want to leave any tips but was still included...

Called in for a quick lunch before going back to Budapest. Didn't check reviews and glad we didn't. This place is worth more than 3.8 stars. Yes it was quiet and language barrier difficult (our fault not theirs) But what a delightful location. Overlooking the Danube and set on shaded stepped patios... perfect. Amazing value too. Lovely freshly home cooked meals. I had the perch and it was amazing. Partner had a simple pasta and tomato basil sauce. Dessert was yummy too... A chocolate souffle with ice cream and Chantilly cream. All washed down with a couple of draught beers for me and rose wine for my wife. Edith, the owner was lovely and showed us around the building and explained it's history and her own life in and around the area. She was very friendly and helpful too.
