500/10 THIS is the place you want to go to and come back over and over again, regardless how many kilometers you have to travel!
The food is not just tasty, it is gorgeous.
Everything is self made, no premade things from stores.
We had hortobágyi palacsinta/hortobágy pancakes, filled with chicken mince, spiced with red paprika. Duck with croquettes and a mixed salad - I had not been aware that salad could taste this good...
The duck which comes also with a tiny jar of blueberry....sauce (?) just made our day.
Dessert was túros palacsinta/pancakes with a Hungarian style quark. Very sweet, very delicious.
The service is absolutely nice and fast, as was the kitchen. We couldn't even think of what we needed or wanted next and already had it.
I also had a lángos which they make right around the corner and is an external part of the restaurant - Perfect dough and absolutely fresh. Try it the traditional way, with sour cream, garlic oil and grated cheese.
This place lives absolutely up to its name.
7740 forint or 24 € for all of this and we would have gladly payed a lot more for...
Read moreOWNER, TULAJDONOS, Please read. Went inside to get a bottled water or soft drink to go. As you walk in there is a huge display of drinks in a Glassdoor fridge by the door. Everyone is looking at me as if I was an alien, and telling me NO. I can only buy water if I sat down in the restaurant. Are you saying you don’t want my money? Mind boggling. Why on earth could I not buy a bottled drink from a restaurant? I never saw this in my life. Charge me more than a store, that’s fine, but to not want my business is baffling. I traveled the world, been to most countries, Hungary is beautiful, but the service industry is strangely behind the times. For a country that is economically struggling, I honestly have not seen another place that is trying this...
Read moreThe food quality is quite good. The portions are excellent and just right. The taste of the food was actually nice. The meat of the pork dishes is nice and well cooked. The burgers are also good, apart from the bread around it. I wouldn't recommend the home made lemonade though. It has a very flat taste with little sparkle and the lemons were not so fresh. The service however was a different story. The service in the beginning was very slow. We sat down, but after 15 minutes nobody showed up, even though they could clearly see us. The food was served semi-hot, but some pieces were already a bit cold. It took a good 35 minutes for them to bring the food, which...
