Ming Garden — Restaurant in Andhra Pradesh

Definitely the best Chinese I have had in Vizag so far. Prices are on the higher side but considering the standard of fine dining in the city, I will gladly spend on good food. Those who are scared of the amount of chilli added in every dish in every restaurant in Vizag, will find this to be a happy respite. Food is fresh and filling. Apart from the quality of cooking, another good thing about the food is that they serve a variety of meats including crab, pork and lamb. If you order in advance you might get the duck. Their cocktails are not bad.

Hospitality is absolutely amazing. The staff will customise food according your request and give fairly good recommendations of wines and other liquor. Many of them speak and understand Bengali and Oriya and took the time to chat with me. I was able to score complementary desserts twice during my visits. And one time I went at closing time, but since the staff know me, they made me dinner anyway.

Recommended dishes: seafood dimsums, crab meat soup, mixed Chinese chopseuy, mizho lamb, pork in ginger oyster sauce, dragon roll. Also people who miss this thing called 'gravy chowmein' as much as they miss Calcutta (like me) you can ask the staff to...

always had a pleasant experience when we have gone to Ming garden. One of the few places in Visakhapatnam to experience fine dining but also lucrative.

The quality and quantity of food is definitely in one of the top of my list so far.

Not too many items varieties in the menu but some dishes are also custom made as per your requirements.

Though options are there for friends and groups, I personally would not recommend it as it would disturb the ambience / quite experience for others in the restaurant.

I have heard that unfortunately the entire building where the restaurant is housed is going to be demolished and reconstructed. In fact this time I went to the restaurant just to ensure that I experience Ming garden before it gets demolished.

I do hope that Ming Garden restaurant finds its place in the new building / owner with already the present standards...

Ming Garden is a Chinese restaurant of the The Gateway hotel (Taj Group). The location is awesome. I think Ming Garden is the Best Chinese restaurant in Vizag. The deck adjacent to the restaurant is a lovely place to stroll and have a unhindered view of the Bay of Bengal. The food was good, specially the Mun Chow Soup and Fish starters. The Kung Pao noodles could have been better. The Chef, Mr. Sanat, is simply excellent with dishes from the menu or special requests.We had received Excellent Service right from the beginning until the end of our dinner, receiving us in the most friendly and professional way , clarifying our queries , recommending the dishes based on our taste which he found out by asking us, following up frequently if everything is to our satisfaction . Excellent professional , individual and an exemplary example for Service Area professionals.
