Beware of very few arrogant staff at Restaurant.
Well, had been a customer of this restaurant for over a year & regular visitor on Sundays especially.
1st time in more than so many visits, When i complained about the quality of the food tonight drawing comparison with the same dish being better when served on earlier occasion, the resto manager Arun asked me to leave instead of solving the issue.
Well, SOMAA has joined the list of restaurants where you have multiple food items in menu and they taste the different every weekend and the quality and potion varies ( downgrades).
Now, comes the funnier part when i insisted to talk to Manager of the resto, when i was talking to him with him near me, i had to talk to him at louder volume to make myself audible because of deafening music on their 5th Floor newly built resto, the manager when unable to solve my query, alleged that i shouted on him, so making myself audible when talking to him in loud music that no one else could hear our convo amounts to shouting and then instead of solving my query, he asked me to pay the bill as if i was running away. Well Mr Arun might be an incapable person who is unable to handle 2 resto floors at the same time but as a customer, i have full rights to raise an issue about the food quality and that doesn't mean that the manager will insult the customer by asking them to leave.
Moreover the resto has lost its charm when new competitors have arrived in Vizag and its more of resto with limited food options as most of the items almost taste similar now a days, rest items are not available and resto takes 40 mins to serve starters.
Building another resto floor, the management should have augmented the staffs and kitchen facilities and these days at 930 PM in the night, the resto took 40 mins to get a chicken starter and the when they got the starters, they got the main course within a minutes which is against the minimum basic etiquette.
The Owner is a decent humble person i would stay still, and a piece of advise: better make the guy at reception counter- the tall guy in spectacles , the restaurant manager, he knows how to handle queries, request and at the same time being modest with a never fading smile or else if your manager Mr. Arun keeps on insulting customers just for asking a query, you will keep on losing business and customers.
Good luck...

Absolutely loved their seafood and chicken starters and biryani. Decently priced menu & drinks and I felt itโs pretty fair for the ambiance they offer. Would definitely recommend๐๐ป๐. It gets pretty busy in the evenings so I would suggest you to make a reservation(and its a must for weekends as its packed on weekends).
09/15/2019 Another visit to this place and as always they never disappoint us. Happened to go their around 2 PM and as they do not take reservations post 2 PM we had to walk and luckily we got one of the sofa seating free and they allocated that table to us. And live music was still on and we really enjoyed the beats along with the food.
Talking about our food this time we tried out
'Tandoori Vanjaram Whole Grilled Fish' - this was really awesome and we just love it. Perfectly fried (not over fried) fish with perfect mix of spices and so soft and juicy (Price at 685 /-) and totally worth the price we pay as we got a big size fish and that itself justifies the cost of the dish.
'Dragon Chicken' - so yumm and delicious but felt that the pieces could have been cut smaller as it was tough to swallow big pieces at a time and also I was told this will be spicy but for my spice level felt like it was regular spice and not on the high side. Quantity was also decent but little bit on the pricey side (Price at 355/-)
'Mutton Kheema Laljwab Biryani' - This one came with freshly prepared biryani rice topped with spicy mutton kheema preparation in ghee and it was so so yummy. The quantity was enough for two people and bit on the pricey side (Priced at 566 /-)
Do try their Pinacolada and you will love it!

Coming to the food and mocktails.
What we loved: Guava Passion - ๐๐ผ๐๐ผ Rightly done for guava lovers Cream of Seafood Soup - ๐๐ผ๐๐ผ Heavenly, go for it if you love sea food Volcano Chicken - ๐๐ผ Not consistent though Tawa Fish - ๐๐ผ Lil greasy Veg Manchurian - ๐๐ผ Egg Biryani - ๐๐ผ๐๐ผ
What we liked: Lemon Coriander Soup - ๐๐ผ Strong flavors of lemon and coriander American Chopsuey - ๐๐ผ๐๐ผ Dragon Chopsuey - ๐๐ผ Chilli Chicken Pasta - ๐๐ผ
What we disliked: Mango Delight - ๐๐ผ Feels like crushed mango bite juice. Syrupy. Shahi Ghost Biryani - ๐๐ผ๐๐ผ Waiter suggested saying it comes with well cooked mutton, tasted okay but the meat was chewy, wouldnโt recommend.
They take good amount of time to serve you the dishes. Itโs good as they make everything fresh but also take your time. So, come and enjoy waiting and munching.
Live music should be soothing and pleasant. But at somaa itโs extremely loud for the premises. You feel like running away as soon as possible. Management doesnโt respond or rectify even after receiving feedback. They donโt understand they are ruining reputation because of that. If you donโt want loud live music, better visit after 3.30pm for peaceful lunch and good food. This restaurant will stay atop in Vizag if they take feedback constructively...
