This was my second visit to Zamindari, and I took a friend who was visiting Vizag to try out authentic Andhra cuisine. The food was fantastic, but the service was a letdown on another level.
We were seated on the first floor, and the two servers there really ruined our entire experience. The younger one was walking around like you do at home, in an untucked shirt, and looking into his mobile out of boredom with a look that said that he would be anywhere but doing his job.
Then they paid excessive attention to our table by standing right in front of the table and continuously staring at us eating. One server had no idea how to serve food. He dumped the kodi pulao on our plates from the serving bowl. My friend kept telling him to stop, but he served her excessive rice. And then picked the food back from the plate into the rice bowl. Yes, he picked the food from the plate and put it back in the rice bowl.
When we requested that he change the plate (in English since we are not locals), they spoke in Telugu. We spoke in English. Now, the language barrier is NOT the problem. However, you don't work in one of the good restaurants in Vizag and live in a city like Vizag without having gone to school and having a basic knowledge of saying one-two-three numbers in English. Three was the number of plates we wanted changed because there were bones in them from the starter. I understood after he repeated thrice in Telugu, how many plates I wanted changed. Now, it's common sense that if I know Telugu, I would speak it. I said three in English which he promptly understood and changed plates. By this time, everyone at the table had started getting uncomfortable. It's a server's job description to make the customer feel welcome so that they come for a meal again. But I believe these are very high expectations from Zamindari's servers.
Halfway through the meal, after they took our order and started sending a Hindi-speaking server to our table, making us repeat everything. There were no glasses to drink water from on the table. They did keep bottled water, mind you.
Just when we started enjoying the meal, at 10:30 PM, the music stopped (the closing hours on Google are 11 PM), leaving the first floor in pin-drop silence. If a customer is eating, only a terrible restaurant will make them feel unwelcome and burdensome.
It was embarrassing to have brought an outstation friend here because she experienced Andhra hospitality to the max!
The food was fantastic, but dealing with the uncouth servers (one very young and one middle-aged) on the first floor left a bitter taste in our mouths. Even the tasty food can't make up for it. The place is maybe fantastic for locals. If you're an outsider and want to experience Andhra cuisine, don't come...

I recently visited Zamindari restaurant, expecting a pleasant dining experience, but unfortunately, the food quality was extremely disappointing. Here’s why:
Taste and Freshness: The food lacked flavor and freshness. The dishes felt hastily prepared and failed to deliver even basic taste expectations. For example, the vegetables in the curry were undercooked, and the spices seemed imbalanced. Presentation: The presentation of the food was subpar, with little attention to detail. It gave an impression of carelessness, which was disheartening. Hygiene Issues: To make matters worse, I noticed some hygiene lapses. The cutlery and plates were not thoroughly cleaned, which raised serious concerns about food safety standards. Value for Money: For the price charged, I expected much better quality and service. The portions were small, and the lack of quality made it feel like a complete waste of money. Service: Although the staff was polite, they seemed disorganized and overwhelmed, resulting in delayed service and cold food being served.
Overall, the experience was far below expectations. I hope the management takes this feedback seriously and makes significant improvements to food quality and hygiene. Until then, I cannot recommend this...

Starters: 3.5/5
We ordered Tandoori Platter which was served with a mix of prawn fish chicken which will serve 3-4 people with 4 pieces each. Prawn and Fish tasted very nice; Chicken tasted ok not as much as the other. 3/5
Main course: 2/5
Ordered Zamindari Kodi pulao serves 3- 2 people for 1 serve for a less - medium appetite person. Taste very average. Prepared with chitimutyala rice and chicken pieces. Not very hot while serving. Moreover it's little over cooked we can feel rice little sticky. Extremely disappointed. Not even having the punch of the spices or felt any flavour from the rice. May be this happened because of over cooking and not enough spices and not serving hot. 2/5.
Ordered Goli soda which has become very generic these days
After the main course experience we decided to not try anything else and rush to work being a working day
Overall: You can visit for once to have the...
