Belle Amie's — Restaurant in Assam

Visited after a long time.First of all, Belle Amie's is not what it used to be. One of the oldest restaurants(since 1980) of Jorhat town, this place has been a testament to changes this town had seen over the decades. I think it is in a dire need of renovation. The sofa covers, the table clothes, dishes etc. everything seemed to be very old and worn out. As of food, it was good ,I liked it. Service was really good . We had a great chat with the manager. Very few diners were there, it seemed Belle Amie's has failed to keep up with the changing times. I just wish that this restaurant doesn't get shut and we could reminisce sweet old memories while...

Worst experience ever. For the first time in their history they have served disgusting food. We ordered 4 full Biryani for 8 people as we intended to share. But they said one plate won't be enough for two and continuously insisted on getting 8 plates. We ended up getting 5 plates. Let me describe the Biryani we received: uncooked rice, tasteless chicken and 4 whole potatoes. What the hell are we supposed to do with 4 boiled potatoes and the only decent thing, the egg, that's it. Came here after 5 years. Not as good as it used to be decades ago. But the menu is same and is just about okay. I cannot trust the new eating joints in Jorhat. Belle Amies has a small seating place just outside their bakery apart from the restaurant. It was hot and sultry? They can put up a fan for the comfort of customers. I ordered a kathi roll which was good a 7/10, the chicken burger was a 5/10 though. Cold coffee was a 3/10. Since I know know near and better places in Jorhat, I will come back for a...
