FoodExx | ফুড্‌এক্স — Restaurant in Assam

FoodExx is situated in the most happening and most busiest part of Guwahati City i.e. the G.S. Road. This restaurant has been dominating the area for quite a few years now. Often it is being visited by youngsters such as college goers or office workers. Adjacent to it are few other restaurants and cafes. All of them are equally if not more good. But FoodExx is the best in that area.

I myself have visited it for quite sometime and I must say the quality of food is the same. I expected it to deteriorate since it has been many years this restaurant have opened up. But I must say i was ver wrong.

The food is great. Their services is ver fast. Although it is not a very spacious resturant, but enough room to sit and eat comfortably.

The ambiance is great and the interior is clean and good. Staff members are well mannered and well behaved. The owner is a friendly person.

Occasionally you can also see people bringing their families.

It opens up after 11 a.m. They don't have available parking place but you can park on the street near the footpath. I think they close by 9 p.m.

This place is always crowded with people. I always love going here when ever I am in town. It feels me with Nostalgia.

You should visit atleast one if you have never visited yet. Trust me you won't regret.

I must share one incident. One day i forgot to bring my wallet and thinking I had enough money to treat my friend and myself, we went inside and ordered lots of food. After we finished eating we asked for the bill. When the bill arrive I tried reaching for my wallet in my back pocket. And to my horror, it was not there. I went and told about this to the owner. I asked him to please wait as I need to go home and bring my wallet. My friend even offered to wait till I come back. But the owner was so kind. He asked me that I don't need to pay him. FoodExx is a very popular food joint among the people of Guwahati. It's located in Christian Basti area along the Guwahati-Shillong (GS) Road which is a prime location by any means. So getting there isn't an issue at all. The restaurant can be reached by means of bus, cab, auto rikshaw or one can drive a car to get there, the only major problem one might face with that is that of a parking place. It's very hard to get a car parking place near that area. The restaurant has basically two parts. One which serves the takeaway customers and is located in the ground floor. The restaurant started business with this part originally. This area doesn't have a proper sitting area (no tables in here). The other area is a proper restaurant at the first floor just above the takeaway section. Both the areas have a kitchen each. I've visited FoodExx many times and never returned disappointed. Quality of food items served is very good. Doesn't disappoint in quantity too. My favorites are the Chicken Tikka Masala and Rumali Roti. Although they can improve upon the Chicken Biryani. The biryani could have been better. The Rumali Roti they serve is quite soft and large. The time taken to deliver the order is not too much, but they can improve on that part too. The restroom is good and clean but there's scope for improvement here as well. I must commend the restaurant for its staff conduct and behavior. The staff behavior is excellent. Very bad customer service. My recent visit to your restaurant was extremely disappointing, and I am compelled to share my experience. This review is not about the taste or quality of the food, although I am giving only one star for that as well.A perfect restaurant should provide a customer-friendly, positive environment with proper food presentation and order-taking with a positive attitude. Unfortunately, we received very disrespectful treatment during our visit.When we arrived, I requested some warm water before placing our order. The staff member told me that they couldn't provide warm water because their oven was broken. I found this excuse ridiculous, as no one uses an oven to heat water. When I suggested they heat the water on the gas stove, they claimed they don't use gas. I didn't argue further, as it seemed pointless.After this initial encounter, the waitress's response was very poor, and the manager (or someone who appeared to be in charge, wearing a half coat and having a cut on his lip) was particularly rude. His behavior was unacceptable, and it significantly impacted our dining experience. It was so unpleasant that we couldn't even enjoy our meal.We decided to have the remaining food packed, but when we got home, we found that the amount of food was less than what we had left behind.
