One of the best hidden gems in Bangalore — Davangere Butter Dose Hotel is an absolute delight for any dosa lover! This small but iconic eatery serves some of the most authentic and flavourful Davangere-style dosas you’ll ever taste.
The highlight here is their Butter Dosa, loaded generously with fresh, aromatic white butter that melts right into the crispy golden surface. The taste is simply divine — crisp on the outside, soft inside, and packed with nostalgic flavors that take you straight to Davangere.
They offer just a simple menu — five types of dosas and paddu, that’s it. But trust me, that’s all you need. Each item is perfected to such a degree that you won’t miss anything else. The consistency they’ve maintained ever since they opened is truly commendable. It’s rare to find places that never compromise on quality, and this is definitely one of them.
What’s also interesting is that they serve two kinds of aloo palya — a yellow version and a white version. The white aloo palya isn’t given by default, but if you know to ask for it, you’re in for a treat. Both varieties are delicious and pair incredibly well with the dosa.
The chutney is fresh, the butter is real, and the dosa is unforgettable.
Highly recommended for a quick bite or a filling breakfast. Simple menu,...

Paduu is another regional speciality of the place.
Another specialty- these dosas are cooked on fire wood 🪵.. aromatic burning coconut and...
Read moreService is very poor and bad... Food taste is okay and they make dosa with firewood... It's self service and Staff on the counter don't treat all customers equally. After placing the order, they gave a token number to collect the order... Ordered benne dosa, paddu, thate idli and they gave token number 11 and told to wait after giving idli. I was waiting for paddu but they gave it to the customer who came after me, even though I was standing there... When I asked the staff, they responded saying he was in a hurry... But I noticed them and they were having food in the car... Then what is the point of having a token system, if you cannot follow that... Treat all customers equally!!! I got annoyed because of this staff behaviour, cancelled my order and told them to try to respect your...
