People forget that food business is service oriented & people come there to eat good food and be spoken to like a human being than a beggar standing at a free food counter. This place has been my go-to for the last 4 years almost every other day. The staff is kind and helpful most of them know me well enough to greet me everytime im there, infact My father is even more regular than I am because he enjoys his dal roti and meals.
I made a bill of 300/- for myself alone and in my north Indian meal I requested for plain rice instead of soup and a jamoon. Which alone costs as much as a large portion of rice. I was denied and spoken to in such a harsh manner. A gentleman from the juice counter came over to give me what I needed but this guy by the Name adarsh I think, used words such as boli maga and threatened to beat up anyone who comes and tries to interfere while he was there serving. He has used such words on a senior person probably my dad's age or even older. How can the management put such a person in the forefront of managing a service counter. He is unable to manage his own tongue, anger and behavior. How is he going to manage serving food? I asked him what the big deal was and he said we cant give two small cups of white rice. He said he wont give it to me and that I can do whatever I want to do about it. I'm not asking anything for free. The rice is a cheaper alternative for you because I'm saving you a jamoon and also a cup of soup. The price of a jamoon is 50 bucks by the way. How cheap can you get?
It's very unfortunate that the owner or the main men weren't available at that moment. They're usually always there making sure everything is going well. But clearly such characters trying to handle things upfront can prevent customers from coming back. I will never step foot inside that place again even though I know the management.
Food quality is deteriorating, pricing is going up just like everything else and clenliness is not it's strongest suit. I honestly pushed myself to go there just cuz I felt like having a meal and I got the treatment I don't...
Read moreNon- service area : Entire menu right from Coffee to tiffin/ lunch followed by ice cream are all costlier by min 10% when compared to other hotels. Food is average (taste is good) but, quantity is served in a strictly controlled manner a.k.a chutney/ sambar, other menu.
Food area is infested with housefly & mosquitos in the morning and night hours.
Big time parking space issue, even for bikes. For cars, there is no parking space arrangement and have to park on road where everywhere BTP has put up No Parking signboards.
Average cost spent for 2 people in other hotels will be INR 150 -200 for 2 breakfast menu each and a coffee each.
But in Anna Kuteera, same will come upto INR 250 -300.... so yeah! It's costly for same quality & taste, nothing special ... including he will not use banana leaf also.
Recommendation : Not a preferred choice for family outing, infrequent visits are welcome as there is ample sitting space (except weekends). Nothing special to talk about this restaurant, it's average. Thank you for reading through...
Read moreEarlier I had a good opinion on this hotel. But, now I don't know what has gotten into them. I suggest you not to try the Udupi meals which cost 150rs. Reasons: If you ask for something, get ready to wait for a long time. If you ask for some extra mini dosa, they bring you only one. they try to overload you with chapattis. there is no point in washing your hands before digging in, because the door handle of restroom has got all the dirt it could possibly get. get ready to be greeted by cockroach roaming all around the dining hall. Some smaller ones manage to get into the plate(leaf) too. Don't expect any ambience form them. They hesitate to serve unless you are women. They behave as if we are dinning for free. they do forget to serve some dishes which you have the right to. So keep a lookout at other tables(if there are any) and ask them to serve you the same.
Oh! Almost forgot... If you are a regular diner over here then you would know that the picture I have attached is that of the coupon which they give for Udupi meals. Well, if you ever get one when you order food online. Don't mistake it for an actual coupon. It is just for advertising it seems(an advertisement paper with a serial...
