Visited Chowman based on google reviews (4.4) and I wasn’t disappointed. I have been recently experiencing some good Chinese restaurants and this one would make it to my list of recommendations if you are in/around Kammanahalli. Service is fast, and staff is courteous and informative too.
Other than this outlet, they are also available in Hyderabad, Delhi NCR, and Kolkata.
The vibes are catchy be it art installations or the music. The entrance is decorated with 2 lions welcoming you, and a small lobby separated from the dining hall.
The menu has a lot to offer in Chinese and Thai, and they also have a kids menu, something I usually see only in fast food joints. Many items are available in veg/egg/chicken/seafood choice.
All tables have their branded watter bottles, glasses, tissues, wooden tablr mats, and cotton table napkins.
Here’s what I ordered
Manchow soup – Mild spicy served with fried noodles on the side. A 1 by 2 serves your portion right.
Momos – 8 steamed tender chicken momos served in its steaming pot and not a plate
Kolkata style fish – 10 Basa fish pieces fried and dipped in some kind of soya sauce based light gravy. Very tender meat and mildly spiced.
Garlic rice – fried rice with eggs and lots of burnt garlic. The garlic aroma is there in every bite, and if you are a garlic lover, you will like this
Seafood Ramen – soupy noodles with veggies, boiled eggs, prawns, squid, and fish chunks. Portion is big, but very bland and lacked salt. The least enjoyed item
Sea breeze – coconut water mixed with lime and pineapple. A great mocktail to conclude your meal.
If you are ordering a takeaway, the food is packed in thick boxes and covers. Better packaging than most of the places one would have ordered from.
You get a serving of mouth freshener along with the bill, a desi touch to a Chinese meal 😊
Cleanliness: Washroom is clean and dry, equipped with quality tissues and soap.
Overall, a decent and inexpensive choice if you want to eat some Chinese. Price for value and service is justified.
Note to the management: Please keep knives with spoons and forks. You can go an extra mile by keeping some chopsticks, an option for...
Read moreI recently dined at Chowman restaurant in Kalyan Nagar, Bangalore, and I must say, it left a positive impression on me. This Chinese eatery offers a delightful culinary experience that caters to both vegetarians and non-vegetarians.
The highlight of my visit was undoubtedly the delicious Chinese food. The menu has a wide variety of options, and I, being a fan of Chinese cuisine, was delighted with their offerings. The Hakka noodles, spring rolls, and Manchow soup were my personal favorites. They were prepared to perfection, and the flavors were authentic, making my taste buds dance with joy. If you're a Chinese food enthusiast, you won't be disappointed.
The restaurant also scores well in terms of ambiance. It exudes a cozy and welcoming atmosphere, perfect for a casual dinner with friends or a special date night. The decor adds to the overall experience, creating a pleasant dining environment.
I found the staff to be friendly and attentive. They were ready to assist with menu recommendations and were quick to fulfill our orders. Moreover, the restaurant wasn't overly crowded during my visit, which allowed for a more relaxed dining experience.
However, I would say that the service was somewhat average. While the staff was attentive, there were minor delays in serving dishes. It didn't significantly detract from the experience, but there is room for improvement in this aspect.
In conclusion, Chowman in Kalyan Nagar is a must-visit for Chinese food lovers in Bangalore. With its delectable dishes, inviting ambiance, and friendly staff, it offers a satisfying dining experience. Just be prepared for slightly slower service, but the fantastic flavors...
Read moreWe’ve been regular customers of Chowman since they opened, especially delivery. They maintain their quality which is why we kept going back. But this time we had a horrible experience. After a long day of travelling, being exhausted we ordered from chowman, one veg noodles and two sides of chicken. After taking too long to deliver, the sent us only one noodles and one chicken starter instead of the two we ordered. Called the restaurant immediately where the person who picked up our call handed it over to the delivery person who kept arguing for over 15 mins all the while blatantly lying that he counted the boxes infront of us while handing over the parcel. When infact he simply handed over the parcel from the lift and left. He kept implying we were lying even though we never blamed the delivery guy thinking that the restaurant may have forgotten the item, since the bill also had only the two items ticked with a pen( basically done while dispatching to make sure the items are present). And the last missing item did not have the tick. We spent thousands on this place, why in the world would we lie about one starter not being delivered.
At this point it had become less about the item and more about the point that we were being lied to our faces and treated unfairly.
After multiple calls to customer care and multiple calls which were ignored, we were promised by some senior associate(Deepak maybe) that our missing item would be sent to us.
Well nothing as such happened nor were our calls answered again. Good going chowman, never...
