Visited the kumaraswamy layout branch many times ,and I really love the darshini , wanted to see if the other branch also has the same taste and quality so ordered some breakfast from the JP nagar branch . I ordered - 1.Masala dosa - The masala dosa is standard size and I loved the consistent taste they are maintaining even though it's a different branch . The dosa was neatly roasted and the aloo filing was standard but good , really loved it . 2.Pudi masala - The quantity is standard , the taste is really good , the aloo again is standard , the pudhi is pretty good but I wish they had put a little more as when it served in the restaurant it is served open and hot but during delivery it is folded and becomes moist so the pudi flavour is lost a little . 3.Millet pongal - the quantity is pretty good and the taste is really good ! I really liked it . It was flavourful and cooked to perfection , it was just melting in my mouth ! , Millet pongal is my favourite dish here in both the branches . As I have said before i feel this restaurant represents all the values of darshini- simple food , cost effective , and nostalgia. They have all the things to succeed in making a successful darshini hope they maintain the taste , quantity and quality . Prices are pretty low and the packing is really good . My rating is 4.5

CRISPY - CRUNCHY - SOFT - Repeat !! That’s how the circular pattern inside a Bengaluru Masale Dosae should be !! This Dosae has nailed it!! . Dakshin Cafe was a new place, started in 2016, became super popular with the locals, slowly lost its plot, with new management, they are turning the fortunes once again !! . In the Pic 📸 ➖Special Benne Masale Dosae with Coconut Chutney. . . . Where ❓➖Dakshin Cafe, JP Nagar 7th Phase. . . . Price dollar 💵 ➖40/-. . . . Timings ⏰ ➖7:00 am to 12:30pm & 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm. . . . Bigbabafoodie Verdict 💯➖⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 . I have been visiting since they opened in 2016, it was excellent for a couple of years & and rapidly faltered which made us stop going there... but my last visit gave a shock !! It was super crispy & tasty, just the way it should be... i can it was 70-80% Bengaluru cafe taste... the glistening outside & soft concentric circle is what i call a good Bengaluru Masale Dosae!! This has become an underdog now !! .

I had earlier (in Jan 2022) ordered Idli-vada sambar and Set dosa from this restaurant. Idli was soft and light and the vada was crispy. sambar was slightly sweeter (as most Udupi sambars are). Set dosa was thicker than most restaurants. Today (4th Jan 2023) I ordered Benne masala dosa (based on the recommendation from a friend), vada sambar and Tair vada. Benne masala dosa was little smaller than the masala dosa which you usually get elsewhere. The price too was less than other places (Rs.55). The dosa was roasted and crispy with perfect amount of potato palya. The chutney and sambar were good as well. Tair vada was really good. The curd had right amount of sweetness. The vada had soaked all that curd and was soft, but still maintained it’s shape! Vada sambar - The vada was crispy and the sambar had that sweetness. No complaints. Definitely recommend Benne masala dosa, Tair vada and filter coffee! Food - 4.5/5 Service - 4/5

Button Idly- 4.5/5 but the chutneys-5/5🤩 Burnt garlic noodles-4/5 Hong Kong noodles - 5/5 Honey chilli potato-4.5/5Good place to have a decent and affordable food .This places serves south Indian food Dosa, Rice bath and coffee all were good. Prices are reasonable I would recommend it. I personally have been visiting this place from last 3 years and the vibe of this place hasn't changed yet.Masala dosa is soft and crisp. The coffee price has increased and the taste has never come down. Very hygiene and good veg options.. seating as well as self service is available..they have a good token display system for parcels..My go-to place for good filter coffee in the area. Best part about this eatery is the wooden bench outside where one can sip on coffee or tuck into their offerings while watching the traffic go by. Quite clean and well-maintained.Parking of 4 wheelers can be quite tricky on the main road. 2 wheeler parking is easily available. I felt Benne Masala Dose was overly crispy, exactly how i want a dosa to be, In the first go to the Cafe I had a hot manchow soup. It was really amazing. If you say for the desert section it was little bit flatter in taste.Probably here the North-Indian food is taking over the South-Indian food. In the end i would love to say that It’s a very nice hotel serving South Indian Dishes. Recently they have started North Indian and Chinese also. All the food are very Tasty. Open Butter Masala Dosa, Idli, Masal Dosa, Manglore Buns, Lemon coriander soup are our favourite here. Must try those of you...

This restaurant opened 8-9 years ago with a strategy of serving good food at a lower price, a concept that set it apart from other nearby hotels at the time. However, over the years, the management have changed accordingly the prices have significantly increased while both the quality and quantity of the food have continued to decline.

Currently, this is the only restaurant that charges ₹40 for a plate of idli, but the size of the idli has become very small, and it’s served with minimal neer chutney which is just pathetic. In contrast, other restaurants still offer idli for ₹35 per plate, maintaining better Idli sizes. Similarly, the thatte idli is priced at ₹35, but it’s now about the same size as a regular idli, which is quite disappointing given the price.

The masala dosa, which other hotels continue to serve for ₹50-₹60, is now priced at ₹80-₹90 here. While I understand that prices may rise over time, these price hikes should be justified by improvements in quality and portion size. Unfortunately, this is not the case, and the experience no longer matches the cost.

If the restaurant intends to continue charging these higher prices, it’s essential that they improve both the quality and quantity of the food to reflect the increased cost. Without these adjustments, it’s hard to justify the current...
