Puttenahalli is a very well maintained lake (at least for the 2/3rd portion of the lake, a stretch of the lake is encroached upon, currently walkway is being built in that stretch but no efforts seems to be put to remove the encroachers). You can spot very many birds like Grey Heron, Purple Heron, Spot Billed Duck, Cormorants, Pond Heron, Egrets, Black Kites, Brahmny Kite, Eurasian Coot, Grey headed swamphen, Little Grebes, and White browed wagtails at close quarters. Great place for a walk.

Nice place for walking. Timing 6am to 10am and evening 4pm to 8pm. You can see various birds up close to the naked eyes. Has a beautiful fountain in the centre. One part of the park has good pavement for walking and other part connects to a people living. There are ample places to sit , small area near entrance with exercise stand. Very greenish and covered with beautiful and colourful flowers.

One of the most beautiful and well maintenance lakes in South bangalore, all thanks to the hard work of the Puttenhalli Lake Management Trust, maintenance staff, and security personnel on duty. The lake has the potential to become a tourism destination if not for the slum encrochment on the other end of the lake is an absolute eye sore. It definitely needs to be cleared on a war footing basis.
