If you're in Bangalore and haven't yet experienced Dakshin Thindi in Jayanagar, you're missing out on a breakfast experience that could only be described as life-changing! From the moment we stepped in, it was clear that this was no ordinary breakfast spot.
Let’s talk about the dosa first – it was not just crispy, it was a divine masterpiece, so crisp that it practically melted in your mouth, yet somehow still soft and buttery at its core. The generous amount of butter used could rival the finest French pastries, leaving every bite an indulgent experience.
And then there was the Thatte Idli. Now, I’m someone who usually doesn’t care for idlis, but Dakshin Thindi’s Thatte Idli is in a league of its own. Soft, fluffy, and perfectly textured, it was so delectable I couldn’t stop eating it. It had me questioning my previous idli prejudices, because this one was clearly crafted by the breakfast gods.
Every dish felt like a celebration of South Indian flavors, and with each bite, we felt like we were savoring a piece of Bangalore’s rich food heritage. If you're looking for a breakfast that will spoil you and make you fall in love with food all over again, Dakshin Thindi is where you need to be. Don’t just take my word for it – go taste the...

I recently visited the new second branch of a popular breakfast spot known for its masala dosa, thick chutney and coffee, and it did not disappoint. The ambiance was welcoming. The Masala Dosa was a highlight. Perfectly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, it was filled with a generous portion of well-seasoned potato masala. The flavors were balanced, with just the right amount of spices, making every bite delightful. The accompanying chutneys were fresh and flavorful, enhancing the overall experience.
The Idli was equally impressive. Soft, fluffy, and perfectly steamed, it paired wonderfully with the tangy and spicy chutneys. The coconut chutney provided a refreshing contrast, making it a perfect combination for a traditional breakfast. To complete the meal, I had a cup of their filter coffee. It was rich, aromatic, and served at just the right temperature. It provided the perfect caffeine kick to start the day.
Overall, this new branch maintains the high standards of its original location. a must-visit for anyone looking to enjoy an authentic South Indian breakfast....
Read moreI recently visited this hotel to try their Masala Dosa, and it was a very disappointing experience. Here’s why:
Spoiled Potato Palya: The potato palya, the heart of the masala dosa, was spoiled. It had a sour, unpleasant taste and a strange odor, indicating it wasn’t fresh. This made the entire dish inedible and left a bad impression.
Texture of the Dosa: The dosa itself was not up to the mark. It lacked the usual crispiness and was soggy. This, combined with the spoiled filling, made for a very unpleasant dining experience.
Poor Service: When I brought this to the attention of the staff, their response was indifferent. They didn’t offer to replace the dish or compensate in any way. This lack of concern for customer satisfaction was disheartening.
Overall Experience: Considering the spoiled food and poor customer service, I cannot recommend this place to anyone. It was a thoroughly disappointing visit, and I hope the restaurant takes immediate steps to improve their food quality and...
