Pathetic dining experience(Single star is a bit high, it is worse than that) I always thougth that Dindigul Thalappakatti make one of the best biriyani, since I have tasted their Biryani in Chennai(T Nagar) many times and miss an opportunity. So with a lot of expectation I visited this place. One only similarity I found is the name. We ordered couple of Chicken ghee roast, in one serving it was cooked, warm outside, but cold inside and had to return and after 30 minutes it replaced with a new serving, now this makes me suspicious on the quality. There was no regret from the person who served, so it seems to be regular issue. Then we ordered their masala coke, you need to taste to believe how bad it can be, there was a slight hint of cola on otherwise a sweetened water, without carbonating and some jaljeera and they charge 100+ taxes for this junk, I felt totally cheated on this. Then we ordered kothu parotta, thinking that it was some parotta and what we got was a disgusting mashed parotta and chicken, the basic thing expected in these restaurants is that the person taking the order should let us know what the dish is all about. Then we ordered their famous biryani, it is a total let down nowhere comparable to what you get in Chennai, the flavor of Cardamom and cloves overrides the taste and the chicken in the biryani is tasteless junk.

These franchisee are taking the customers for a ride, this is not short of looting. I have never had such a bad experience, will never think about this restaurant again. When I complained the manager there, his expression...

Their adds on all the social media platforms are good but not their Food. *Especially if you are visiting for dinner please don't go & waste your money by ordering chicken biryani cz they serve the last part of the biryani by re-heating it again and again which is cooked in the morning or noon. Biryani is not at all fresh. *Kari dosai is nothing but only a egg dosai...you won't be able to find kari or chicken or mutton gravy in it...it's a waste of money for egg dosai they named it as kari dosai. *The staffs & their service is too good. *But the food is too pathetic & worst...it's not at all worth the money. *Don't fool the customer by providing the left over biryani & charging the full price *If you're visiting for dinner they don't have much options at all ...they didn't have mutton cz it's sold out already & many other options are also not there for dinner basically they serve all the leftovers which is Cooked in the day for the dinner. I have wasted my 1800 rupees for this left over food on last night. *Their food is quite expensive but the quality & the kind of food they give back to us is not the worth money at all. *It's my humble request to not to visit for dinner & don't waste your...

Very Bad Experience! Please Don't Visit!!! Not Worth!

They use same masala powders to prepare any biryani (Both Veg and Non Veg).

We have ordered Mutton Meal Combo, Mushroom Biryani, Egg Kallaki, Kothu Parotta, Soup, Lime Soda

Combo came with 2 Biryani and 2 Starters. (In which Mutton pieces in Biryani was too hard and not cooked properly. Coming to Staters it's just like name sake they're providing, the quantity is too less).

Soup was good but it just taste like pepper rasam added chicken pieces.

Egg Kalaki was just like omelette, usually Egg Kalaki is prepared by adding chicken gravy to it. But here it's not like that.

Kothu Parotta was ok but not so great. It was too dry to eat.

Mushroom biryani not good at all, it taste like rice added with masal powders and some mushroom pieces.

Gulab Jamoon and Rasgulla very very tiny pieces taste wise ok not great.

Totally not worth going don't waste your money.

Even after complaining to the waiter, the response he gave was "Write it in the feedback book and go, team will check" They were so reckless. Not even bothered to listen to...

The Famous Chennai's Dindigul Thalappakatti biryani landed in Bangalore several months ago. But I happened to visit this chain of restaurants only recently. Was apprehensive because they had converted it to a chain of restaurants, where quality or taste might have varied. But it was actually close to the experience i had in Chennai (the original place). The biryani is uniquely Thalappakatti's, no doubt about that. The rice is flavourful and so is the meat. I tried the Chicken biryani and it was really good. The banana leaf, raita and ambience ticked the right boxes. Even though the rice is not very spicy, but it was still had a high dosage of masala in it. It is definitely expensive for what is offered. 314₹ for a chicken biryani with good quantity, they have a special 750 ml water bottle which they charge at 25₹. Yet to try the other dishes, on next visit. Curious about the Idhiyappam and Dosa chicken curry. Parking a car is a problem, had no issues with two wheeler. It is crowded with people visiting KFC in ground floor as well.

After having visited their Jayanagar outlet and liking the dishes, this time opted for direct delivery from this outlet. The website navigation was smooth with different categories to choose from. There was no price difference compared to restaurant menu price. Coming to the items, I ordered the following: Chicken Boneless Sukka and Pallipalayam Chicken Boneless Roast. Order was delivered on time and well packed. The packaging was good to ensure no spillover. Chicken Boneless Sukka - minced chicken chunks cooked with grated coconut, making a dry gravy and a good combination with roti. Pallipalayam Chicken Boneless Roast was more dry with dry coconut chunks in it. Both were slightly spicy and treat for the spicy taste lovers. Goes good with roti/chapati. Quantity is good enough for 2-3 people. Price may look at slightly higher side but got good offer from dotpe website and also worth the taste. Will try again from other categories of menu.
