Visited with colleague's for dinner on a Friday night. This place serves military style cuisine. We ordered chapatis, Mutton chops masala, Chicken oota (meals), Pepper chicken and Chicken Kebab. The food was served on banana leaf (I personally love to eat in a banana leaf as it enhances the food taste). The service was quick and the taste was good. Typical Military style food with Rich flavours of masala. We wanted to try few mutton items in the menu but all the mutton items was over except Mutton chops masala.. The chops masala is served with 2 pieces and a thick semi-gravy (wish the gravy could have been little extra). They also serve plain chicken gravy for chapatis if you wish to only have them. The pepper chicken and Kebab was good too. The chicken oota comes with Chapati, Bowl of Rice, Raagi Mudda, Chicken curry, salad, Rasam. Infact a cup of rasam is served as compliment for everyone.. overall the food was good.. The place is not a big one, Typical seating arrangement you will find on most of the small hotels.. Good luck and...
Read moreI and my husband visited the restaurant on a drizzly November Sunday wanting to eat proper kannada non veg food served really hot.
Positives : 1) The food tasted a little above average, not too spicy to the palate. 2) the service was fast. 3) Mudde was the only thing that was hot as expected. 4) Food is served on banana leafs which is really appetizing. 5) Prices are reasonable considering the portions of food on offer.
Negatives : 1) There were house flies hovering everywhere, it's very unappetizing, but we were really hungry so didn't mind them. 2) other than Mudde the items we ordered were really not hot as we expected (especially when it is drizzling outside!) 3) Parota is store bought not properly made at the restaurant. 4) Natti chicken Briyani smelled good but tasted ok as did the other items. 5) There are no tissues on the tables, we had to ask for them thrice. 6) For a proper kannada- non veg food-serving restaurant we didn't see mutton saaru or chicken saaru on the menu, may be we...
Read moreWe thought we will explore local places and tried gowdru hotel . But trust me it was a true disaster. Dont ever take leg soup because it is not leg soup it is just the pepper powder mixed with tomato rasam and it costed 120 rupees. Next is mutton fry costed us 240 rupees(reputed hotel like meghana also gives mutton fry with more or less same price). Out of 5 small pieces , 3 were complete bones and 2 pieces were not cooked properly also there is no taste in the mutton fry except pepper powder . I am giving 2 starts only because of the biriyani (250 rupees). Biriyani was average but eatable with mild flavors. Again biryani pieces were also not great . Final ans one line review is I dont recommend this hotel .please dont waste your time and money and your...
