I recently visited this restaurant, and I found it to be a decent spot for both family dinners and catching up with friends. The ambiance was warm and inviting, making it a comfortable place to enjoy a meal. Here’s what I ordered: 1) Seafood Mix Soup (3/5): The soup had a good flavor overall, but it was a bit heavy on the pepper, which overpowered the delicate seafood taste. Additionally, I felt it could have used a bit more meat to balance the broth. 2) Ghee Rice and Prawn Curry (4/5): This dish was the highlight of the meal. The ghee rice was fragrant and perfectly cooked, pairing beautifully with the prawn curry. The masala was well-blended into the prawns, giving them a rich and satisfying flavor. The accompanying green chammanthi added a nice touch of freshness. 3) Fish Pollichathu (3/5): The fish was well-cooked and flavorful, but the dish was a bit heavy on the masala and oil, which slightly overshadowed the natural taste of the fish. A bit more balance would have elevated the dish. Overall, it was a satisfactory dining experience. The restaurant offers a good selection of dishes, and while there were a few areas for improvement, I would still recommend it for a casual dinner with family or friends. The service was attentive, and the prices were reasonable for the quality of food.

Parota and Beef Roast were good. They should try adding some spices to reduce the unpleasant meat smell or else the taste was fantastic. If you are ordering fish make sure you check with the restaurant how long has the fish been stored in freezer. The one that I got was not fresh and barely had moisture in it. First time I saw Pomfret fish being made this dry, and that too it was tawa fried not deep oil fried. The only reason I guess should be the long storage time in subzero conditions. If it was fresh and moist, I am pretty sure the fish dish would have also been a great experience. I was ready to play the bill with some feedbacks. But the manager was a gentlemen, he understood the customer issue, never billed me for the Pomfret fry (approx Rs750) and promised me that the next time I visit, the restaurant will make sure they implement the feedbacks provided. This single act shows how much the business is open for feedbacks and ready to change according to customer needs. I wish them the very best.

It was a great experience dining here. We ordered the Samudra sadya and costed around 360 on March 12- 2022. It was really tastey and appetizing. When we saw the rate as 360 and the server said we will get anchovy fry, squid fry, prawns masala and meen peera as side dish along with a fish curry and full course meal with all normal curries and 5 sides, we thought the side with fish fry will be just for namesake. But to our surprise, it was full course and the quantity was really sufficient for 2 people. And moreover it was really really tasty. I will definitely recommend this place over all the kerala style restaurants in Bangalore. I had visited Restaurant Chef Pillai and had the Nasrani Sadya from there for more than 500 rupees and trust me its no where close to the Samudra Sadya served in Kadav Shaap curry restaurant. Kudos to the chef and the whole team of Kadavu Shappu curry restaurant. The servers and all attendees were also so polite and humble. Really good job guys 👏 👍

In short it’s not worth at all, not going again.

Detail review: Kadavu Shappu Curry's, despite its promising Kerala-themed ambiance and welcoming staff, falls short in delivering a satisfactory dining experience. The initial waiting period of 15-20 minutes for seating, followed by another 10 minutes to place an order, sets a sluggish pace for service. Although the order included a variety of items such as Samudra Sadhya, fish curry meals, lime juice, and seer fish fry, the service delays persisted, with a notable 15-minute wait for just the lime juice. A glaring oversight was the absence of a basic courtesy - offering water, which had to be specifically requested by diners.

The real disappointment began with the mismanagement of orders, particularly the missing seer fish fry, which never arrived despite being billed for initially. The staff's apparent lack of attention to customer needs and the inability to efficiently manage orders further marred the dining experience. The quality of food offered mixed experiences; while the fish curry was too spicy for some, it was appreciated by others. However, the decision to add bitter gourd to the 'Pachadi', a traditionally beloved dish, was a misstep that significantly detracted from the meal's enjoyment.

Furthermore, the inclusion of minimal accompaniments like a small Pappadam, when compared to the offerings of other local restaurants, alongside their relatively high prices, adds to the dissatisfaction. The eventual resolution of the billing error for the undelivered seer fish fry did little to amend the overall poor impression left by the lack of customer care and service inefficiency.

In conclusion, Kadavu Shappu Curry's, despite its potential, disappoints due to significant service and management issues, making it a place not recommended for those seeking a pleasant dining experience in Bangalore. The restaurant's failure to prioritize customer satisfaction and efficiently manage orders makes it a choice best avoided, underscoring the need for substantial improvement in service quality and...

I recently had a non-veg meal here, which cost ₹210, compared to the veg meal priced at around ₹150. I chose the non-veg option expecting a satisfying chicken roast, especially considering the ₹60 price difference. Unfortunately, what I received was quite underwhelming and disappointing.

The so-called chicken roast was mostly a heap of fried onions—roughly 90% of the dish—with just two very small pieces of chicken, barely enough to justify the “non-veg” tag, let alone the additional cost. The dish felt more like an onion roast with a hint of chicken, rather than a proper chicken roast.

When I raised the concern with the receptionist, I was told that a full chicken roast typically costs ₹300, which was meant to justify the small portion I received. However, that argument misses the point. I didn’t expect a full roast for ₹60 more—but I did expect a balanced dish with a fair portion of chicken, not a garnish of meat hidden beneath a pile of onions.

As a paying customer, it's not just about the price—it's about feeling that you got what was promised or at least something that matched your expectations. Unfortunately, this meal felt misleading and left me unsatisfied.

I hope the management takes this feedback constructively. Better transparency in the menu or portion sizing would go a long way in improving the...
