Staff here at the Mall of Asia Rajdhani outlet seem to be in a hurry and irritation. My experience yesterday was no different where the helper staff who brings water was hand wash was murmuring something while he was pouring water onto our hands. I asked if he was irritated or pre-occupied about something if so, requested him to excuse himself from our service and send someone else. He mentioned that there is nothing like that and flew away. Then came another senior staff who asked his men to take away the plate from my daughter who was not going to be charged. When we asked him why they are taking away the thali plate, he said that she can share food with one of our family members in our thali plates. We told them upfront that a separate thali/plate needs to be given to her and we are ready to pay the kid charges they have which they said they have waived off. Then came the food and the service was nearing closure which was evident with the number of follow ups these serving staff were doing. Within minutes of the first roti servings, the person with rice started asking if we wanted rice. It looked so deliberate to customers away without their dining experience was fulfilled. Dahi vada and curd rice was so very bad because they must have been prepared early during the day. When we complained about this to the senior staff, he just brushed our complaint away citing that the curd must have become sour due to the weather and not spoilt. He started diverting the topic by offering more sweet, custard in lieu of the curd rice and bitter tasting dahi vada. We were really losing our cool but did not want to create a scene there. We left the place after a half or even lesser dinner experience but paid for all the 3.5 meals without a question being thrown back at them. I feel that the Rajdhani management needs to look into such feedback seriously to take customers as their priority. They need to know its the customers who make them and their organization, staff and business survive and...
Read moreOn my recent trip to India, I caught up with a couple of friends, and during our time at Phoenix Mall of Asia, Bangalore, we decided to try Rajdhani Restaurant, as it looked quite interesting from the outside.
Right from the entrance, the experience felt unique — a darban (doorman) greeted us and guided us inside. Before sitting, a staff member offered to pour water over our hands for washing. While it was a nice traditional gesture, I personally felt it would be better if guests were guided to a proper hand wash station to clean thoroughly.
Once seated, the experience was very authentic “Rajdhani-style” thali dining. A large platter with multiple small bowls was placed in front of us, and servers kept coming around with various dishes, refilling generously and encouraging us to try everything. The food quality was good, though I personally couldn’t eat much beyond my portion. The buttermilk was refreshing and served promptly when requested.
One thing to note — they offer Mango Lassi, but it is not included in the thali. It gets billed separately, so guests should be aware before ordering. Pricing overall is on the higher side, but considering it’s inside a premium mall, that’s understandable.
A special mention to Mr. Prashanth, the manager, who was very friendly and even clicked a picture for us, adding a personal touch to the visit.
Overall, it was a decent experience — worth trying if you want something different and traditional, though I wouldn’t call it a must-visit. Perhaps I’ll give it another shot during my next...
Read moreThis is a chain of restaurants and I have been to one in indiranagar . While Domlur did not disappoint me and provided exceptional service even accommodating no dairy items in food and tweaking a little bit on it. Expected the same for this outlet. Called in advance to check if they can accommodate and they said yes for the 75% items. We booked the table and reached there just at about opening time with barely anyone there we sat down and called the manager to request if we can speak to the chef of the dairy intolerance and make one thali with limited items of no dairy in it. He straight up refused and said no. “All items has ghee and pls don’t eat here if you have an intolerance. We can’t adjust for one person the food is already made and can’t even do the roti fresh” Person on the phone said 75% items have no diary not even ghee and can be accommodated, the manager at the restaurant straight refuses to serve our table of 4 where only 1 person requested this adjustment. Am scoring low just on the experience and conflicting views by the staff of the restaurant phone vs in person and between branches. Also no need to use words like “ sirf aap keliye thodi na alag khana bana sakte hain” - just for you we can’t make different...
