I am talking about this place from memory when I visited in 1997. It then wasn't a self service restaurant. I practically visited every morning of my seven day visit to my then bachelor brother staying at Cox town for breakfast. The ambience was not great but people came there to eat the delicious south indian breakfast. The eatery would be full of people having their cuppa of kaapi the filtered variety, the aroma of it still fills my heart with nostalgia. This is when I, a tea lover got hooked to kaapi. They offered a variety of breakfast - idlis, udin vadas, sada dosa, masala dosa, Mysore masala dosa, sweet and kara rawa, uttapams.... Every day I would try different items but what took my heart was the Mysore masala dosa... Which I never found the same taste replicated anywhere, so in frustration I stopped ordering it promising myself I will have it only when I go back to Bangalore to this establishment. Although the language barrier was there, the service was always with a smile. In those days the restaurant started around 6 am and worked till 10 am.
