Naveen Butter Dosa Camp — Restaurant in Bengaluru

So, I saw this on google and read the reviews and was excited to try it. So let's start with the place - it's small, but you haveblittle benches inside. You can manage. It's a regular small shop like really small. Next the service, the person serving me was alright, not so friendly. I asked for sambhar and he said I don't make sambhar, in a not so friendly tone. Also may be cos it was a busy day.

Next the dosa. Honestly I expected the taste to be as great as it was in the reviews. But it didn't do it for me. I expected an unami when I heard of it, but it wasn't as expected. So, honestly don't go with high hopes, try it on a week day when the crowd is probably less. May be everything will taste better. Location has shifted nearby. Its exactly 2 roads parallel to commercial Street in a shop much more neat and clean and good place to sit and enjoy the great stuff. They have started idly and Vada too in this new place. large board outside new shop. Nothing can get better than this. He is the world's best in my opinion. I can imagine some patrons may express frustration on waiting for the dosa and take off a star or two. Naveen himself is a well spoken talented educated professional and demands high degree of respect. Once you do this your plate will never go empty. Complete personalized service and sure preference to old timer regular guests so please no offense....

I recently saw Naveen BDC featured in a dosa documentary by Bangalore International Centre and decided to check it out for myself. For starters, it was not very convenient to visit (because on weekdays this place is open only from 4pm to 9pm).

Tried their butter dosa and masala dosa. I so wanted to be wowed, but to be honest I came away feeling rather disappointed. At the risk of offending those who have been gushing over these dosas, I must say it as I see it: No great shakes. Not worth a trek for sure.
