Read moreAfter a long day, my partner and I visited Pasta Street, which was on our list. The ambience was nice, but the service didn’t quite live up to expectations. Right from the start, we were pushed to order a whole bottle of wine, even though we mentioned we were driving. Upon denying to take up whole bottle of wine, the server started behaving strangely and was pretty rude. It really should be the customer’s choice, and we found it quite uncomfortable.
When we asked for extra tissues (because BBQ chicken wings are a bit messy!), the server just pointed to the single tissue on the plate. It felt awkward to ask for more, and honestly, one tissue was nowhere near enough. The pasta we ordered also lacked cheese and was quite tangy, but given the waiter's attitude, we didn’t feel comfortable raising it and just ordered extra cheese instead, which didn’t really help.
After paying the bill, we decided to speak to the manager about the experience, upon asking to call the manager, the server at first said he had left for the day, and when we said we want to talk is when he called up the manager who was in the restaurant itself , we informed the manager that the service was not up to standard. The manager quickly understood the situation and was very sweet and understanding, apologizing sincerely, and even offering us a complimentary dessert, which was absolutely delicious.
We would suggest training the staff better to ensure customers feel welcomed and comfortable, as it’s only fair to expect good service when...
Read moreExpected much better from Pasta Street. Food was mediocre, not worth the price. The Nutella shake I ordered though was Rs. 300, tasted like a Rs. 10 Calvin's tetra pack chocolate milkshake. Fries and Lasagna was bland. The only reason I'm giving two stars is because of the amazing Chocolate Brownie. Coming to the reason this restaurant lost all the stars, it was not because of the food but because of the way they deal with the service charge on the bill. They had, by default, charged 10% as service charge, which I politely requested to be removed. The manager spoke to us after, saying that they have declared that they collect service charge in the menu. I explained that the Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA) guidelines state that restaurants and hotels cannot force customers to pay service charges. The guidelines also state that service charges are considered unfair trade practices. After convincing, the manager went on to ask for my phone number, he said it was company rules to take the customers number who denies service charge (implying it was for some kind of defaulters list). I denied giving my phone number 3 times, after which they were ready to remove the service charge without taking down my number. Talking about the service itself, it was really really slow and took about half an hour for our food to arrive. I would never come back here after this experience, they lost a customer and will lose more if they continue this. I don't usually leave bad reviews, but this...
