Ranganna Military Hotel — Restaurant in Bengaluru

Drove almost 8kms having a great appetite for non vegetarian food and all that was gifted to me is BIG DISAPPOINTMENT. The service i got here was the worst ever (lets not forget this is one of the expensive place compared to any other hotels nearby)

This hotel was 30-40% occupied by the time I visited here , found a comfortable place and took a seat and here comes the waiter DEMANDING me to be seated at a table which was already taken by 2 other fellow customers (each table has four seats and now i had to sit in an occupied table , inspite of having more than 8 tables available i suppose)

And here comes the best deal ever for you. order your food in less than 30SECS WHEN THE WAITER takes down your order , if u exceed 30 secs , the waiter might sound rude telling u “YENADRU BEKU ANDRE BEGA BEGA HELBEKU “ (and i am really not sure if i have to check the menu and order or should i just go random with the dishes)

However, since that i had good appetite by this time i ordered one chicken biryani , one mutton biryani ,plain soup and a chilli chicken !!!🥰😍

They wanted me to order in less than 30secs but i had to wait for 15 mins for the first dish to be served to my table , and it was it was not the soup or the chilli chicken , it was 2 chicken biryanis. And at this point i also ordered for a water bottle. I tried calling the waiters to inform them both the biryani were chicken one by one ANNA , SIR, GURU, BOSSU and i ran out of words . By the time one of the waiter made it to me my 2nd biryani was half done 🥹. I decided to cancel the chilli chicken and soup because 2 plates of same biryani almost killed my joy to eat more .

Btw , did anyone going through my review realise that i never received the water bottle i requested for even after completing my meal . 🫡 Finally i got my water bottle and the bill

I did try talking to the waiter while paying my bill “ana , mast agi thindi thinkond hogi malgana antha bandre ,sakath bejar agotara ithu nim service!! ” . And he replied “haha, yen madodu”. 🫠🫠🫠🫠🫠

Let me not just talk about the negatives after all , coming to the biryani i had ; its actually chicken PULAV than calling it as BIRYANI. Whatever it is named , i did love the aroma and the taste of the chicken pulav (they never gave me a chance to taste anything else)

Try avoiding this place if you are someone who is willing to have a good experience along with the food . I would recommend to visit if you are someone who just wants to taste good pulav and least bothered about the service...

This restaurant was in my goto list for a long time and I got a chance to visit On Sunday Jan 1st 2023. The place was around 30% occupied it was neat and clean and then the waiter came to take our orders. We were not given menu card to go through he just told us some 5 to 6 dishes and we had to select out of them. We ordered for Mutton biryani, Parota and chilly chicken, Leg soup , the biryani came in within no time and the food was cold at 12.45PM! Later realised this place has a menu card.

When asked for the previously ordered chilly chicken the waiter replied rudely.

Coming to the taste of the food it was very average, Biryani had no taste and it was too oily. It seemed like Masala pulav. Parota was worst so hard to chew. This place is very famous for their leg soup but trust me it was worst. One of the worst leg soup i have ever had and that too 200/- per cup.

Prices are too high and the quantity served was way too less. If you are thinking to share a plate of chilly chicken or biryani it won't suffice.

Lastly the billing part, waiter came to us and told us it was Rs.700 and did not even given us a physical copy of the bill. I asked him for gpay payment he was refusing telling it takes time and in a very rude tone. I then gave him cash of 1000/- and he still demanded extra 20/- so that comes to 1020/- for 3 dishes!!! He gave me back 300/- , I was neatly scammed by taking forcefully tips from me and he also charged me extra for the food. He just hided the bill.

The waiter who served was a real cheat and rude. Later came home and read all the negative reviews and found the same reviews from many of them. It was a day light robbery. I wanted to go back to the reception counter and complaint as it was a first day for the year i just left sadly. I do not leave any restaurant without tipping the waiter usually. Guys, do not go by the 9k reviews. Please read the negative reviews before going.

Hello dear foodies...Kya haal chaal...so r u willing to try something different this time..why not try some naati style (country style /Desi style ) food...then don't think just head towards jayanagar for an awesome meal at none other than Ranganna Military hotel (no other franchise they have apart from this)...Bangalore has so many this military style restaurants...and I found this one as one of the best in Bangalore...great food ..awesome taste..homely cooked...family run business and family members only cook...hence you can be rest assured on quality of raw material and the final dish which is getting served on your plate...they do have open kitchen culture so you can see the yummlicious dishes getting cooked infront of you...fast service but very crowded on weekends hence plan to reach on time to avoid waiting or the dishes getting over...the best I like was mutton pulav (mutton biriyani) , anjal fish fry, kheema gojju (mutton keema) , naati chicken fry, mutton kurma and there rasam which is too good..it's always good if you go with group of friends or family members so that you can enjoy multiple dishes... Monday they remain close and timings are 7:30am to 4 pm and 7pm-10pm on rest of the days....dish quantity ok....spicy level good..taste awesome...ambience ok local style not a fancy sort of restaurant, although there is a separate room for family but limited sitting area...parking will be an issue..staff behavior good and prompt service...overall a great experience...a must try and highly recommended.....for more such reviews follow me on Google local guide, Instagram, TripAdvisor or Zomato @ #ankurthefoodie...so enjoy yummy food and have...
