If bars were humans and they were to be rated by their looks, I'd say that this one's pretty classy and neat. I liked the way they have done the arrangement of the place. You get a feel of the entire place, if you are seated somewhere on the ground floor. The waitresses were dressed in pink and it takes you a while to realize that they aren't customers themselves, because of the cute styling done on their clothing. But the stylists and planners didn't do that with the styling of the waiters though. I'm sure, someone wasn't so happy with how equality was served during the ancient times. Speaking of ancient times, they played music from the 80s on the Sunday that i was here. On a sunday night, even after having booked our tables at noon the same day, we had to wait for around 20 mins, before they allotted us with a table for two. If you decide to walk in, then God bless you. In which case, you might be asked to have a seat and once everyone who have booked for that time slot have been allocated, you may be lucky enough to be given one. So book before you arrive. I can't imagine the rush on a Saturday.
Enough with my rant. Right? About the review, well i liked something about everything that i ordered. But if you ask me, whether it was the best they could do, for each item? I'd answer no. The menu has a list of options varying from South & North Indian, Asian, European and continental in styles. But when we had to make a decision, we couldn't make one. Mostly because we vibed only with , maybe 1 out of 5 options. In the end we went with, Korean garlic bread - Amazing for a group. Bad for two . Because the cream cheese gets overwhelming after a single slice. It's tasted good. Watermelon and feta salad - it was a good pick. And with the arugula leaves, which is quite common in most places these days. Since it contains basic ingredients, a restaurant can't really mess it up. Pork ribs - The sauce / gravy used was nice. The meat was devastating. 75% of the meat was fat. We had to waste a major portion of it, because the fat was getting too overwhelming. Note to the restaurant: pork doesn't mean fat. Pork has really delicious meat. Allow your customers to enjoy the meat, and please don't overwhelm them with a super fatty piece of pork on their plate. This is a mistake that almost 80% of restaurants in bangalore make. We wished to order more. But due to the excess fatty portions that we had ordered, we had to call it quits and ordered their artisans ice cream in chocolate. This ice cream was really good. Loved it.
I would wish to come back and try other items as well. But for now, i am not highly impressed. I haven't tried their drinks menu and would like to try that another time. With respect to food, i am finding it good. But i blame it ok my choice of ordering. Maybe I'll try a better bunch of items and then look forward to editing...
Read moreRoxie has always held a special place in my heart as a devoted food enthusiast. The restaurant offers a fantastic blend of delectable cuisine, a welcoming ambiance, and captivating music, making it the perfect choice for gathering with friends and family. However, my recent visit left me with mixed feelings.
The culinary journey began with the sublime Malai Pepper Chicken Tikka, a meltingly tender delight crowned with cheese and accompanied by zesty onion pickle. It was a dish that transcended generations, pleasing both the young and the old. In contrast, the chicken popcorn meant for my son proved disappointing. The chicken lacked flavor due to a poorly coated marinade, earning a mere 2 out of 5.
The Bombay Koliwada Prawns, a representation of Mumbai's local flavors, fared well, but the true star of the evening was the Irani Mutton Keema Pav. This Parsi delight, adorned with a sunny-side-up egg, onions, and a hint of lime, was a lip-smacking masterpiece that left an indelible mark.
The limited salad selection was an unexpected drawback, with only the Classic Chicken Caesar Salad available. While enjoyable, it could have been crisper had the lettuce not been overdressed. Desserts, on the other hand, were a delightful finish, with both the Creme Brulee and Tiramisu delivering on their promise of melting in the mouth.
Unfortunately, the exceptional culinary experience was marred by subpar service. Despite the evening's relative tranquility, the front desk staff exhibited a disappointing lack of courtesy and professionalism. They failed to honor a special request for a ground-floor seating arrangement, which was particularly important due to my mother-in-law's knee condition.
Upon reaching our table, it was evident that the waitstaff had not been adequately prepared. The service was disorganized, with our wine arriving late and a distinct lack of table setup. The cleaning of our table left much to be desired, with food residue scattered on seats and an unclean table surface. It took multiple requests to address these issues, detracting from the overall dining experience.
In summary, while Roxie's cuisine remains a standout, there is a pressing need for a significant enhancement in the quality of service and hospitality. I earnestly hope that these concerns will be addressed promptly to ensure a more enjoyable dining experience for future patrons. Front desk staff should be briefed on prioritizing professionalism over personal grooming during customer interactions, and the waitstaff should exhibit a stronger sense of table assignment and attentiveness. It is crucial for Roxie to recognize the gravity of these issues and take necessary steps to elevate its...
Read moreI recently dined at Roxie Restaurant in Haralur Road, Bangalore, and I must say it was an exceptional experience. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted warmly and offered valet car parking, which was a convenient start to our evening.
The highlight of our meal was undoubtedly the Korean garlic bread. The bread was perfectly toasted, oozing with a delightful garlic and butter flavor. It had a unique twist that made it stand out from any garlic bread I've had before. It was a true delight for the taste buds and left us craving for more.
The Palak Patta Chat was another standout dish. The combination of crispy spinach leaves, tangy chutney, and refreshing toppings created a wonderful medley of flavors and textures. It was a refreshing and innovative take on a classic Indian street food.
The Paneer Tikka was cooked to perfection. The paneer cubes were tender, marinated in a flavorsome blend of spices, and had a slight smoky char that added depth to the dish. It was a vegetarian delight that left us wanting for more.
Next, we tried the Thai Lotus dish, and it was a pleasant surprise. The aromatic flavors of Thai cuisine were well-presented, and the lotus roots were cooked just right, offering a unique texture to the dish. It was a delightful fusion of flavors that satisfied our taste buds.
We also ordered a pizza, which was cooked to perfection. The crust was thin, crispy, and loaded with fresh toppings. Each bite was a burst of flavor, and we couldn't resist finishing the entire pizza.
Lastly, we savored the Hakka Noodles, and they were a delightful addition to our meal. The noodles were cooked al dente and tossed with a delicious mix of vegetables and sauces. It was a comforting and satisfying dish that complemented the rest of our meal perfectly.
Overall, the dining experience at Roxie Restaurant was exceptional. The food was delicious, well-presented, and had a creative touch to it. The ambiance was warm and inviting, and the staff was attentive and friendly. The availability of valet car parking added to the convenience of the visit.
I highly recommend Roxie Restaurant to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience in Haralur Road, Bangalore. Whether you're a fan of Korean garlic bread, Indian street food, or international cuisines, Roxie Restaurant has something to offer for...
