Detailed Review of Salt Restaurant, Nexus Mall, Koramangala

I recently visited Salt Restaurant in Nexus Mall, Koramangala, for a team lunch, and it turned out to be a delightful dining experience. Here’s my detailed review based on various aspects:

Food

The food at Salt is absolutely amazing. Every dish we tried was flavorful, well-prepared, and beautifully presented. Some of the standout items that you must try include: • Ghee Roast Prawn with Idiyappam: A unique and delicious dish that balances rich flavors with a hint of spice. • Charcoal Chicken Kebab: Perfectly grilled, tender, and packed with smoky goodness. • Tiramisu: A creamy and decadent dessert that hits all the right notes. • Gulab Jamun: Soft, warm, and syrupy – an absolute treat for anyone with a sweet tooth. • Caesar Salad: Fresh, crunchy, and perfectly dressed – a great start to the meal.

Ambience

The ambience is warm, inviting, and perfect for team lunches or group gatherings. The décor strikes a balance between modern elegance and casual comfort, creating a space where you can enjoy your meal in a relaxed yet vibrant setting.

Service

The service at Salt was exceptional. The staff was attentive, polite, and ensured that our orders were served quickly. Despite being a busy day, they managed to maintain a high level of efficiency, making our experience seamless and enjoyable.

Pricing

The pricing at Salt is on the higher side, but considering the quality of food, service, and ambience, it feels justified. For special occasions or team lunches, it’s worth the splurge.

Reservation

Given the popularity of the restaurant, making a reservation is highly recommended, especially if you’re visiting with a group. It helps avoid long wait times and ensures you get a good table.

Final Thoughts

Salt Restaurant in Nexus Mall is a great place for anyone looking to indulge in amazing food and excellent service. While it may be on the pricier side, the experience it offers makes it worth every penny. Whether it’s a team lunch, a family gathering, or a celebration, Salt is a fantastic choice.

I recently visited SALT - Indian Restaurant & Bar & Grill located in Nexus Koramangala Mall, Bangalore on a Saturday evening. The restaurant boasts a varied menu and an inviting ambiance, but my overall experience left me with mixed feelings.

To start our meal, we ordered the Lal-Bagh Tomato Basil Soup, which had a delightful blend of flavors. It was a comforting and refreshing choice. We also tried the Virgin Mojito, which was refreshing and perfectly balanced in terms of sweetness.

For appetizers, we opted for the Tillwali Babycorn and Paneer Hara Matar Tikka. The Tillwali Babycorn was crispy and well-seasoned, offering a satisfying crunch. The Paneer Hara Matar Tikka had a vibrant green color and was packed with flavorful paneer and peas. Both dishes were enjoyable and set a good tone for the rest of the meal.

Moving on to the main course, we tried the Kadai Paneer and Dal Tadka. The Kadai Paneer had a rich and spicy gravy that complemented the soft and succulent paneer. The Dal Tadka, while flavorful, lacked the usual tadka (tempering) aroma and could have been better.

Accompanying our main dishes, we ordered Butter Naan and Jeera Rice. The naan was fresh and had a delightful buttery texture, making it a good choice to mop up the gravies. The Jeera Rice was fragrant and cooked to perfection, adding a subtle flavor to the meal.

One aspect that detracted from our experience was the pricing. The restaurant leans towards the expensive side, especially considering the portion sizes. The prices didn't quite align with the overall experience, leaving us slightly dissatisfied.

In terms of service, the staff was attentive and friendly, although there were a few instances where we had to wait longer than expected for our dishes to arrive.

Overall, SALT - Indian Restaurant & Bar & Grill offers a decent dining experience with some hits and misses. While the food had its moments of brilliance, the expensive pricing and occasional delays tempered our overall satisfaction. If you're willing to pay a premium for a varied menu and an average experience, SALT might be...

Indian food made just right. The first time I stumbled upon Salt, I figured it would be an overpriced Indian food joint that does not service authentic food. Boy was I wrong.

Ambience: (4/5) I actually love how the tables are placed in Salt at Koramangala. They have multiple seating options and the seating for two are toward the corner allowing for a view. The walls have some really fun quotes to read while waiting for the food. Colour schemes are also pleasant and overall I would suggest it’s a good place to bring folks who are traveling to India for business and want some wholesome Indian food that is of high quality.

Food: (5/5) I have been here multiple times and have a bunch of suggestions that one must try. (1) Biriyanis are great - I tried the mutton one and loved it (2) The kebabs are also great, have tried most of them on offer and they are perfect. (3) The Indian breads along with the owner and chick gravies are fantastic. Recommend more of the starters for sure as they all are packed with so much flavour and texture. But the interesting thing here is also the presentation. The chef and team there clearly work hard to get the dishes tasting and looking great.

Summary: (4/5) Great place to try in forum mall. Lovely seating and ambience coupled with some great food. Cannot go wrong here. Highly...

Salt is often considered a cornerstone of flavor in cooking, yet its importance can feel overstated when certain dishes shine more prominently than others. In my opinion, only a few select foods truly elevate the essence of salt and showcase its power. Among them are fish kebabs, kebabs, and chicken biryani—each demonstrating a perfect balance of spices, salt, and texture. Fish kebabs offer a savory delight where salt complements the natural flavor of the fish, enhancing every bite. The seasoning binds with the tender, juicy texture of the kebab, creating a well-rounded dish. Similarly, kebabs, whether mutton or chicken, rely heavily on salt to amplify the blend of aromatic spices. Without salt, these rich, smoky skewers would feel incomplete, failing to deliver the bold flavors they are celebrated for. Chicken biryani, on the other hand, represents the pinnacle of culinary balance. Salt plays a crucial role in harmonizing the layers of marinated chicken, fragrant basmati rice, and spices like saffron, cardamom, and cinnamon. It ensures the dish has depth and complexity while enhancing the interplay of savory and subtle sweet notes. Beyond these few dishes, much of the food we encounter can feel bland or uninspiring, often missing the finesse needed to make salt truly transformative.
