Suvaii - A Pandyan Legacy — Restaurant in Bengaluru

After viewing several recommendations and mixed reviews on social media, I decided to try Suvaii, a Pandyan Legacy, a restaurant specialising in delicacies from the city of Madurai and around. The original plan was to visit the very trendy restaurant with very traditional south indian tiles and interesting art, but we ended up ordering from the. Since it was far away, it took around 1.5 hours to deliver, and the food was still a bit warm.

Wifey wanted to try the Non-Vegetarian meals, while I ordered a Mutton Biryani, a Chicken Biryani for my daughter, with a side of Mutton Kola Urundai and a portion of boneless Chicken 65.

The packaging was intact and delivered perfect, without any spills or misses in our order. After an hour-long wait we were all hungry and I started off with the mutton kola urundai or keema balls, and the chicken 65. The mutton kola urundai was a very well done fried meat ball, where the minced mutton beautifully seasoned with a delicious blend of authentic spices, came very close to our Madurai favourite Kumar Mess Kola Urundai. The Chicken 65 did not travel well and had become a bit soggy, but very well made, perfectly served with a lime wedge, onions, though it missed that minor touch of coconut oil which is usually present,

The mutton biryani came with some fantastic meaty pieces, mildly flavoured yet packed a punch on heat with whole peppercorns and green chillies, cooked to perfection in a short grain seeraga samba rice mix, served with a quintessential boiled egg. I must highlight the quality and cook on the mutton, it was top notch. Portion was decent, heavy eaters like me would need the whole portion, else there is a possibility of sharing.

I did sample the non-vegetarian meal, which came neatly packed with potato poriyal, a kootu, a mild dal, three non-vegetarian curries, rasam, buttermilk, and appalam with a banana leaf to enjoy the meal. I very much liked the fish curry, mutton curry and chicken curry, in that specific order. The rasam was super yummy and I wish there was more of it. The white rice served was a bit short grain and I wasn't sure how traditional it was to go with an authentic Madurai meal, but passable.

Suvaii, meaning taste in tamil definitely passed the taste test and we are looking forward to visiting the restaurant to enjoy much more from their menu fresh off the kitchen, and super hot, till then...

This is not regarding the food. This is regarding the VALET PARKING. Yesterday we visited this restaurant for the 2nd time and gave our ertiga car gor VALET PARKING. When we finished eating and the car was bought from the parking by their driver, we were shocked to see scratches made on full side of the codriver door, backside door till the end. I am attaching pics for reference. When the Manager came he said that they don't have any private parking area, they park the vehicles on the roadside by paying to all the concerned/ involved people. He assured that he will rectify my car scratch by sending his wallet parking driver, pick the car and do the needful and return my car. Also he added that since this is a Tamilnadu restaurant other people are wantedly doing this in their road parking space. Since the manager accepted to rectify, we didn't want to get into any argument, Just took his number, and left that place as it was our wedding anniversary. But after reaching home when I called the manager he didn't pick or call back to my calls. I waited for 1 hour. Then when I called him from another no he attended and now he says he will just polish the car. That's what he can do from his side. I told him polishing will not work as the scratch is deep, I will leave the car in car showroom, let them bear the amount as quoted by the showroom. He started denying adding that they are not responsible for the damage caused in VALET PARKING ( though they don't have a valid secure parking area and parking on the roadside, no security guard also). He is busy with the business hours, asked me to call next day afternoon do that he will speak to his owner n get back to us, after arguing for lot of time to fix the car. Today when I called he asked to share the pics, so that he will get the estimate from his known person. I told I already got estimate from the showroom, it's approximately 15k, you crosscheck with your known source n get back asap. He immediately got angry and again started blaming me, you make complaint anywhere I will fix the car. You can come legally n cut the call. Till now no response from his side or from his restaurant.

Vegetarian meals - sapaadu is so comforting you will love every bite of your meal 🥘 Gun powder , poriyal , appalam , sweet sambhar made with shallots is true deliciousness 🥘❤️ . Staff are knowledgeable and do their best to ensure you have a fabulous dining experience. .
