The food is quite tasty here. I tried the chicken cutlet and aloor chop, which were very good.

Update : I was really impressed by this restaurant before and practically thought of it as a potential hangout place for my Sundays. Given this has a Bengali motivation for the menu, I was enthusiastic about the Durga Puja menu and set plans for myself and my friends to enjoy the delicacies. Unfortunately just before the festival, I brought home a takeaway order for multiple items which included two plates of chicken chowmein. After finishing half of one of these plates, I found a dead cockroach in the same. I was completely disgusted by this and this led to me puking right after dinner and feeling sick the whole night. Instead of writing a public review about this right away, I decided to text the owner about this. She replied with an apology and said she'll check and get back to me. I'm still waiting for her response (it's been a month!). Neither did I get a refund nor did I get an acknowledgement of this incident. I understand that this was an unfortunate incident and nobody does this intentionally, what I would've appreciated is an acknowledgement of this. Obviously, I'm repulsed by cockroach in my food and never...

I'd like to share my genuine feedback regarding the food at Kitchen of Joy. My friends and I have been loyal customers for several years, drawn to the authentic taste of Eastern India (West Bengal, Assam, etc.) that your restaurant provided. We particularly enjoyed the street-style chowmein, chicken cutlet, and occasional ghugni, reminiscent of Bengali evening snacks. However, we've noticed a significant decline in both quality and portion size, coupled with steep price increases.

We're disappointed that our go-to place for a taste of home no longer lives up to its former standards. Despite giving it multiple chances, the food consistently falls short of expectations. For instance, the chicken cutlet I ordered recently was small, falling apart, overly coated, with minimal chicken and excessive potato content.

We've ceased ordering chowmein altogether due to its diminished value, and now even the cutlet fails to satisfy. We sincerely hope that you'll prioritize improving food quality, allowing us to once again experience the joy of home flavors whenever we visit.

Thank you for considering...

Well thanks to their kitchen smoke, these days we the neighbours have a good time whenever they cook somethings like fish and other things. yeah, its just smoke right, yeah they just don't even have a chimney for their kitchen, they just don't worry about all these things as long as in the front space they have customers queuing in and they make money. yeah why care about nearby residents plight bcos of them , its not their problem? typical behaviour of most people these days. Thank you to the people running this outlet, kudos to you for your respect for people staying near your kitchen. We will respect you and close all our windows in our home whenever you cook with your nice teflon burnt tawas (yes we do get a lot of burnt teflon smell), after all you should make money right. But if you have some iota of respect and concern for others pls have a chimney installed. you can look for inspiration from the building to your left, which has a bigger hotel , but they do have a well put...

A small hole in the wall place in indiranagar serving good Bengali food. I passed so many times from this lane but this place went unnoticed every time. The place is quite small with only few small tables for seating. I liked the interiors and the themes on the walls. The menu has a lot of options to choose from. The lady at the counter, who I believe was the owner is very helpful and hospitable. I tried the ghugni to start with and it was very tasty. Then had the mini combo of chicken kosha with 3 luchi and it was delicious. The luchi was super thin though compared to other places I had at. They used baby potatoes in the kosha. The portion size is decent and and the pricing is okay too. I just hope they had a bigger space and more seating as it wi difficult on weekdays to get a seat. Atmosphere - 4/5 Service - 4/5 Food Quality/ Presentation - 4.5/5 Taste - 4.5/5 Portion size - 4.5/5 Value for money - 4/5 Overall rating - 4.25/5
