The Yard is a newest entrant to the list of interesting dining spaces in Whitefield, this one in doddenekundi was discovered on my way back from Office one day, and family made to plan to dine here for a relaxed Sunday lunch. This non-air conditioned open space with three levels of covered seating is filled with lots of gaming options from foosball, to an actual football court that can be utilised for party or team building spaces too. They do have live music on weekends and a dance floor coming up too.
Service was friendly and fast and as we settled down in a slightly more secluded space and quickly ordered a chicken manchow soup, dynamite rock prawns, stir fried fish with chilli basil, with a mocha frappe. The chicken man chow was a decent version, while the dynamite rock prawns were superbly well made, a very close version to our favourite so far from P.F. Chang’s. The slightly crispy basa tossed in a chilli basil sauce was as good as it can get and we loved it and finished it before we even got a chance to pair it with our main course. I did want to try something different from their menu, something unique and ordered a chicken tikka taco, which was a bit too spicy even for us, soft tacos had a delicious mix of chicken tikka with a chilli sauce that hit our palate a little too strongly and was a bit tangy too, giving us some Chinese vibes and not necessarily Indian or Mexican, a good attempt, but not a successful output.
As time passed and the place was getting a bit hot I had to order a fresh lime soda to cool things off before we wrapped up with our main course of burnt garlic chicken fried rice paired with a kung pao chicken. The fried rice was very street style and well made with nice chunks of chicken, while the kung pao was a great version with crunch nuts to compliment the succulent juicy chicken, highly recommended.
For desserts, we decided to skip the classics and went for an affogato that was extremely well made with two scoops of house made vanilla ice cream with an espresso pour, a perfect way to end a slightly warm afternoon in Bengaluru. It was a great lunch with some wonderful service, so swift that we could not venture out to try out some of the foos ball or dart boards around. With a great array of dishes in which the dynamite rock prawns, chilli basil fish, kung pao chicken and the affogato stood out and I would definitely urge you to try The Yard in the...
Read moreWanted to eat out at a new place and stumbled upon The Yard during a quick search on Zomato. The entrance from the roadside is quite unassuming but once you enter the place its lovely. Energetic and colorful graffiti work and the quirky abstract art installations make the ambience very chiq. The sitting area is pretty big consisting of 3 zones (cafe area, smoking zone on the ground floor and another bigger non smoking zone on the 1st floor). We were greeted cordially at the front desk and were seated immediately even though we had no prior reservations. We met Amit, the creative visionary behind the place. While the menu wasnt too extensive, but they had a good mix of Asian and Italian with a little desi twist to many of the dishes. Though we did not order any alcoholic beverage or desserts, but they had quite a few good selections for those as well. We ordered a Virgin Piña Colada, Sweet Chilli and Lime Cottage Cheese, Edmame in Sea Salt and Truffle Oil, Blue Peas Fried Rice, Kung Pow Prawns, Chicken Sheekh Kebab Taco, Chicken Cannelloni and Pork Belly. The portions are a tiny bit on the lesser side for the price, but the taste makes it worth it. Our server, Mr. Robert was very sweet and friendly. The service was quick. They have play areas for dart, foosball and a pool table. There is also a small football court for kids to play. The washrooms are clean too. Great place for family dine-ins, casual meet ups with friends or colleagues. All in all, I would 100% recommend this as a great place...
Read moreI recently visited The Yard with my team for a dinner-outing and were initially impressed. The food was excellent, the service was attentive, and the ambiance was great for a casual dinner. My team had a fantastic time enjoying the pool table, darts, and foosball, and we were having a blast during the karaoke session.
However, our positive experience was completely ruined by an unruly corporate group seated next to us. Their hooting and vulgar behavior was obnoxious and escalated into a few of them getting into a brawl with the staff.
What truly ruined the night was the management's shocking lack of preparedness and inability to handle the situation. Instead of a swift, zero-tolerance response, they allowed the disruption to continue for more than an hour, making our entire team so uncomfortable that they had no choice but to leave.
I expressed my concerns directly to the management, but their weak and delayed reaction was entirely ineffective. They promised to ban the company in the future, but that does nothing to salvage our ruined evening. For a business that wants to attract corporate clients, it's unacceptable that they can't ensure a safe and professional environment.
The Yard's failure to address this adversity promptly has cost them a valuable, repeat customer. I'll not be bringing our teams, or any other team from the company, back until they prove they are capable of properly managing their establishment and protect...
