Read moreUdupi Vaibhav is a popular pure-vegetarian restaurant in Bangalore, known for its wide menu of South Indian snacks, full meals, and also North Indian, Chinese and chaat options. The ambiance is casual, with both self-service counters and table service, plus some AC dining in places.
What people like:
The food is generally tasty and diverse: good dosas, idli-vada, filter coffee, South Indian meals are often praised.
Pricing is reasonable for manyâespecially in non-peak times and in simpler branches.
Good parking in some branches, which helps because the place gets crowded during breakfast and weekends.
What people complain about / drawbacks:
Inconsistency in quality: Some report items being oily or not properly cooked, or chutneys/sambar not quite up to expectations.
Service issues: Slow during peak hours, occasional rude or inattentive staff. Wait times may be long if it's busy.
Hygiene and ambiance: Some branches have feedback about cleanliness not being perfect, or tables being unclean. Seating can be cramped when crowded.
Overpriced for what you get in certain branches / for certain dishes. Some feel the portion size doesnât always justify the cost.
Verdict:
If youâre after a casual, veg South Indian (and more) meal with good variety, Udupi Vaibhav is quite good â especially for breakfast or a relaxed lunch. Just try to go during off-peak hours to avoid long waits. Be a bit selective (some branches are better than others), and donât expect fine-dining polish. Good value overall, but not perfect in...
Read moreAlways good in terms of South Indian food. Self service is the best but mostly crowded.
North Indian meals or roti curry I did not like so don't recommend. Roti is very hard to even break and extremely chewy. Also the curry given ain't enough for two rotis.
Also food is not consistently good its ur luck someday u end of getting best South Indian food but sometimes it may not serve ur taste bud.
Only taste of coffee is consistent :)
However in the service area these days the waiter ask for tips wen we make payment through UPI or card that's somehow annoying. Because it's upto the customer to pay tips or not you cannot force someone by standing beside the person table and embarrassing them whether they paid or not.
So they should make a separate payment for counter instead giving the power of taking the payment to the waiter or hospitality person who takes the order.
Thats something I did not feel good about the place. So I stopped visiting. There are many similar which provide better services and does not embarrass the customer.
Yes the whole set up is changed now. There is a separate sitting area ac hall. And self service is separate. Now it looks more spacious and better. Coffee is the best and food is still going well with...
