Small but chic place. Well maintained ambience. Nice Robindra Shongeet in background. The boys are well mannered and polite. They took excellent care of me and wife. We always used to order in from this place however on the previous day of Dhol we decided to visit and have a dine in. Zomato gold made the experience sweeter.
We ordered bhetki paturi, kosha murgi, plain rice, and beguni. Bhetki was splendid. Whether it is pollichathu from Kerala or paturi from Bengal, I like the concept of wrapping fish in a leaf and steaming it. When it's a river water fish like bhetki in the backdrop of strong mustard taste and aroma how could one not order it ! Kosha murgi was spicy with Bengali preparation. It went well with plain basmati rice. Beguni was perfect as a starter with rice. It had a homemade flavour.
The service takes sometime but I wouldn't mind it as they eventually give mouth watering food. The boys attend to you and take good care. Finger bowl was brought before and after our meal. Air-conditioning was appropriate.
Will try their Noren gud ice-cream next !...
Read moreThis is the second time I had lunch their... these two attempts are helpful to share my thoughts on this restaurant. First of all they delay to serve food. minimum 30 minutes. sitting options only 4 but its okay to manage... The most bad thing is no good taste in the food. all the curries looks like blackish ...like kosha mansho seems like optimum burned... No taste of meat... egg is same condition. .. once I had Narkel Cholar dal... the preparation was totally dry... so you think about what they served... with rice this kind of dry items totally flops. .. Sukto almost same...vegetables were seems to be one week old...which was kept in refrigerator as that was also dried... no taste... what to say... I got frustrated with this restaurant. . my suggestion and personal feeling is... for Bengali food ...simply peole should try in 6 Ballygunge place Thali and 6 Ballygunge Place..... I will not do the wrong choice for next time...
Read moreBengali cuisine at it's best. The place is situated in a location that can be easily discovered from the road. The eatery was very small in size however. They didn't even have wash basin for customers and provides hand sanitizer. The decor was nice , themed as vintage Bengali village. Outdoor seating is also available. However a prior reservation is recommendable. The food was delicious. The 'vetki paturi' is finger licking good. We also tried 'poster bora' and 'kosha mangsho (mutton)' , 'parsher jhal' and found to be taste awesome. However they have a limited choices when it comes to dessert. We had ordered baked rasgolla. The taste was decent but was overpriced compared to the size . The staffs were courteous but the service is a bit slow. Overall, one who wishes to taste Bengali cuisine, this place is a must go in...
