Ocean Grill — Restaurant in Bidhannagar

Ocean Grill is located in 1ST floor infinity benchmark building just opposite to pantaloons. and RDB. They have a touch of blue in the interior. And it does suit the name of the restaurant.

Blue Like the ocean. I really loved their ambiance. The seating arrangement is well spread and spacious,

so if you’re visiting with a huge group you will have no problem.

They have both Buffet and A la carte for their customers.

I visited this Ocean Grill with my cousins last Thursday and we had a great time.

They have full bar available and have some really amazing mocktails and their presentation and platting of every food item and drinks were excellent. They also have 7 aquariums in the restaurant. And amongst the 7 aquarium that they have 2 are kept at the bar and one is a small fish bowl .

Now let’s come to food without further delay.

We stated with the drinks (they were made without any alcohol/ the alcohol in the drinks were excluded ) and they are as follows:

Vigrin Mojito

Pink Slush

Fish Bowl

Pinacolada

Vigrin Mojito: It was refreshing and it was just perfect. The presentation was good and it was served in a tall glass.

Fish Bowl: This was a watermelon juice served in a glass decorated with pineapple and watermelon. The best part about this drink was that a small aquarium bowl was used as a glass holder and the aquarium bowl had two tiny cute little fishes in it. (Recommended)

Pinacolada : This is a classic drink that you get in all the bars . It made with coconut cream or coconut milk, and pineapple juice, usually served either blended or shaken with ice. The only thing that was eliminated was the rum

Startes that we had are as follows:

Chicken Sultani Kebab Fish Bucket Reshmi Kebab Chicken Harissa Kebeb Chili Pork

Chicken Sultani Kebab: This was a fairly new item that I had tried and it tasted good. It was served with hari chatni on the side.

Fish Bucket: Crispy fried fish served in the fry try itself. The fish was crispy on the outside and juicy in the inside. The best part part was even thoe it was deep fried dish the fish was soft and well cooked. (Recommended)

Reshmi Kebab: This was my favorite starter. The kebab was well cooked and it was soft and juicy. I will recommend this to everyone.

Chicken Harissa Kebeb: The chicken kebab was well cooked and it was soft and juicy. (recommended)

Chili Pork: This was really good pork and was well cooked and it tasted just perfect. The pork was saturated in with bell papers.

And now let me tell you about the main course and they are as follows:

Flame grilled PERI PERI CHICKEN Moon fan fried rice Kung Pao chicken Mutton Biryani Chicken Changezi

Flame Grilled peri periChicken: This dish had two chicken legs (big pieces) marinated with peri peri masala, hot sauce and grilled to perfection. The two chicken legs were set on a deb of crispy french fries.

Moon Fan Fried Rice It was a kind of mixed fried rice and it tasted really good. It was a little different that normal fried rice in taste as well as in the plating. It had it all from mushroom, Chinese veggies, sausages, bacon,chicken and egg.

Kung Pao chickenThis is a Chinese dish and is made with chicken, peanuts, vegetables, and chili peppers.

Mutton Biryani Mutton biryani is served in a small handi and it has two pieces of mutton and one piece allo that the common ingredient in every biriyani preparation. The presentation was the best part and it looked mouthwatering and tasted super yummy.

Chicken Changezi : This preparation of the chicken has six pieces of chicken and it goes well with the mutton biriyani.

I really enjoyed the food and ambiance out there. Their service and platting of each and every item was excellent and I will surely recommend this restaurant to all my friends if your in saltlake and want a good place to eat that this is the best place...

I exposed the truth about this place in the promotional video of a food blogger called coconut quinoa but she deleted my post so you need to beware of the place and the promotions! Warning beware of this restaurant! We went there once and it was the most horrible experience of our life!! They use excess baking soda in food and we had huge stomach problem after eating it. There was even a live cockroach found in their food and the proof is available in youtube you can check it out! Further the starters and main course were stale and tasteless. If you book from nearbuy they wont serve you fish and prawn which is not mentioned in their terms also so basically they just come to fool the people! So anyone who pays through nearbuy will not be served anything from the ocean even though the name is ocean grill what a joke! Soft drinks are one time and that too they serve in one mini sized glass mixing half water you can easily make it out! Even if you book here in advance the manager openly says that he does not care if anyone books in advance and if more people come then he can cancel the advance booking also!! They serve the starters quite slowly even on weekdays so imagine how will they serve during puja days! This oviously is a promotional video and will not reflect the true quality of food and the service which we have already experienced! It was hell and we would never visit here again! You guys have been warned!!

Edit- Reply to owner: Oh thanks a lot for mentioning that you are a 12 year old brand which gives you the license to do whatever you want and call all reviews as fake except that done from your own team I guess. Regarding nearbuy you dont even give people an option to pay the difference amount and get the prawns you epxect them to pay the full value of the buffet again so this proves what kind of business ethics you have. Thirdly, the proof of the live cockroach being found in the food is all over on youtube, the whole world can check it out its not me who is saying it. You serve people stale food and you expect to get good reviews, many others have complained about your service as well and that reflects so well in your rating, so all of them are sadists according to you except yourself. Keep hiring food bloggers and promoting your stuff because it wont sell in itself because of the quality which is well understood. Edit: Oh yes so that video is also fake according to you which is visible even now this proves what kind of business you run. Its you who hired food bloggers and are paying them to promote your stuff and you are calling us as fake...

A world under the sea, that is the theme of Ocean Grill. By name some delicious seafood is what everyone expects from a place like this.

It’s located opposite to RDB Cinemas and Barbeque Nation on the 1st floor. In this area there are lots of well known restaurants serving wonderful food quality. Lets see how this place competes with them…

Ambiance : After entering into this place you can realise how well the interiors are keeping up the underwater theme. Lights in shape of Jellyfish hanging from the roof, rock walls, underwater blue coloured lights, even crab designs on floor, overall ambiance is very decent. Alcohol lovers can enjoy the bar counter in front along with few beautifully maintained aquariums.

Lets start tasting their food…

Cocktails The Fish Bowl : It’s one of their speciality drink and it looked just beautiful. Have you even saw a drink on fish bowl, it was just that.

Classic Martini : Another beautiful drink this time Gin based. It was also real eye catcher.

Starters Fish Bucket : The way it was served the way it tasted. Fresh fish fried to perfection making it juicy from inside and tasted excellent with the dip.

Sultani Kebab : It was kebabs in new avatar that tasted just brilliant.

Pork Spare Ribs : Meat lovers can’t go wrong with this and when its pork there’s nothing better. Perfect cooked meat with spicy and tangy sauce served with fries tasted really good.

Mains Mutton Biryani : The way it was served very much impressed me. It was very dry kind of biryani with matching spices. Mutton pieces were extremely soft and tendered.

Chicken Changezi : It was a perfect match with their Biryani. Gravy was spicy and creamy with very nicely cooked chicken pieces.

Pricing : Food, Cocktails and Drinks are highly expensive here rather better to say its extremely expensive. Their special cocktails are priced so high that someone can get a dinner buffet with alcohol drinks for less price. On the other hand no other place serves a beautiful looking cocktail on a fish bowl.

Conclusion : Ocean Grill is not only for seafood lovers, this place good in every aspect so we enjoyed their continental and Indian dishes too. They also serve buffet and I will surely try that...
