On holi we wanted to try something different and we went to visit this place.. The atmosphere there and the staff arrangements , behavior everything was really good they're so polite with their customer I was so impressed.. Now comes to the food they have a huge variety of flavor to offer when we were handed the menu we were so puzzled like what should we order it's more like a question paper to slove 😂 We even ask the staff for their best selling recommendation and they suggested us few things.. We tried the sushi there is huge variety of sushi veg/ non vage which a must recommend the tuna was soo good and fresh.. Dimsum was so juicy and the coating layer was so thin and tasty, we order both veg and non vage ramyeon but despite it saying spicy the level was pretty low.. They gave us tofu fry for the veg and chicken/pork for non veg.. There were so many toppings on the ramyeon but still it could have been better.. But over all it was a healthy meal and the quantity was enough.. We tried mesu spicy ramyeon.. Dessert Japanese cheesecake a must try.. I'm not a too sweet lover so other other cakes were really sweet for me.. The manu says on our house baking and you clearly could fine the difference the cake was so soft and creamy even the vanilla ice cream we were served was completely different from the regular ice cream..
Over all I'll give it a 4 out of 5.. Would visit again for their BBQ...
Read moreI recently visited Soy Yum and had a truly delightful experience. The ambience was modern, aesthetically pleasing, cozy, and welcoming — a perfect setting for a relaxed meal. The cleanliness of the space was impeccable, which added to the overall comfort.
What really stood out, though, was the outstanding service. I wish I remembered his name, but our server — a fairly tall, dusky gentleman — was exceptionally warm and attentive. He took the time to thoughtfully explain each dish, which added a personal touch and made our dining experience feel all the more special.
Most of the dishes we tried were fantastic. That said, the Miso Ramen didn’t quite meet expectations — I’ve had better elsewhere. The gyoza, while flavorful, lacked the visual appeal we had anticipated based on photos from other reviews.
Still, despite these minor drawbacks, I’d wholeheartedly recommend Soy Yum and would gladly return. It’s a place that gets most things right and leaves you with a...
Read moreVisited Soy Yum last night after seeing it hyped by a popular Kolkata-based Instagram food blogger. I’ve been visiting Japan regularly for work over the years, so when I heard about a new place serving Japanese cuisine, I was curious and hopeful.
Big mistake.
The food was far from authentic. What they served barely scratched the surface of real Japanese flavors. It felt like a confused Indo-Asian fusion thrown together to look "Japanese" on the menu. The miso soup lacked depth, the sushi rice was off, and the ramen was just a noodle soup with random toppings. No umami, no finesse, no balance.
The chicken katsudon was somewhat palatable but came without karashi or any proper condiments. The gyoza? Definitely not Japanese. No hint of toasted sesame oil, no proper texture, just a bland dumpling.
If you’ve never had actual Japanese food, maybe this passes. But if you know the real thing, skip it. This place is just Instagrammable fluff...
