I got a very bad and toxic experience with Kalyan Jewelleries, Salt Lake, Kolkata yesterday 21.01.23. I purchased a gold ornament worth Rs 2.72 lakh. I had some old gold for exchange. What they did they melted the gold and then put in carrot meter. The melted gold were of three categories 16k, 19k and 21k. and the gold percentages were 70%,88%, 90% The new gold ornaments that I purchased, were just 22k and gold % was 91.6%. But while valuing the old gold they calculated gold percentage as 100% gold even when the new ornament was of 91.6%. They didn't pay any heed to the logic of selling gold with 91.6% purity and buying old gold with 100% purity. More over the assurance of gold exchange rate as zero as declared by them in the poster displayed in the shop with the bold picture of Bachchan was grossly denied. Further they did not give the discounted value of Rs 50 on gold rate which they displayed in the Shop. That was absolutely cheating and forgery by Kalyan Jewellers and in the name of Amitava Bachchan and we do feel very much insulted and cheated and utterly exploited. We went at 11:20 but surprisingly though the store was open, they were still arranging the display which I felt very unprofessional. We were looking at some products and prices. As there are some offered going on, we asked the lady which are being discounted for making charges or rather 0 making charges. She promptly commented that if we had come for those only, we should not have wasted time and they would have directed us there. Is it customer service ?
