Harilal's — Restaurant in Bihar

Dine In experience: I have always loved Harilal's Kankarbagh branch. The food, the staff, everything has been great and so I had the same expectations for this place too. But not only I was disappointed by the staff and their response but even the food was bad. When we were placing the order, the staff discouraged us to order anything too complex and said no to most of the things on the menu. When we ordered from Chinese and South Indian, they specifically said that Chines would take 20-30 minutes to be served. We still ordered as then there were no options left besides Chinese and South Indian. When the food was served, the taste of everything in Chinese was below the 3rd class food in taste as well. I never expected Harilal's to have such a condition.

Online order experience: We ordered a plain cheese Dosa through Zomato along with other items, thinking we were ordering from Kankarbagh Branch, whereas the order was from this branch. Not sure it was routed to this one as it's closer to our address or I made the mistake of choosing this one but the taste of all the items were below average. But the worst part was that the Dosa we received was Masala Dosa. And we had to upload a Video to Zomato to share to the restaurant as they refused to accept the mistake when we sent a photo of the item in question. In return, we were offered a Discount the next time we order from the same place through Zomato. Kudos to Zomato but as I don't think that's in our favor considering the condition, it was a waste.

It was out of sheer desperation that we ended up eating at this place and now are full of only regrets. Ordered a Pav Bhaji & Paper Plain Dosa and were left appalled by the quality of food as well as service. The bhaji was oily, sweet and lacked any zing or spice. The Pav were grilled in a sandwich maker/griller with the size being smaller than Sudha Buns. The Paper Dosa was ordinary and generic and one can have far better ones at different places. Oh yes, both were served cold- with the paper dosa being served only after I created a fuss over the service time. As far as the replenishment of Sambhar & chutney was concerned, the service was so poor that I had to go to the counter and plead for more. (Brings back hostel memories for sure!) We also had the displeasure of ordering jalebis which were served cold and hard like rocks. Sure -they are supposed to be crunchy but not crack our teeth in return. We returned those fried rocks back for a better batch only to recieve intoxicatingly sugary swirls. A very very poor experience and would recommend a Krishna shree outlet or something else rather than Harilal. They've made their name in a sweet meat frenzied State and no longer deem necessary to keep up with customer...

The worst Harilal Outlet ever visited. I am not writing this review for only one visit. But I am working in nearby vicinity of this outlet and multiple of time I had visited. There is Mis coordination in staffs in a very small order. For office events I also tried this outlet for bulk ordering , it is always below then average services. And after every complain , they only said " Mam aap aa jati to hum badal dete". Dear you are brand you are charging high price than other so no chances is given to you for rectification. I am not sure about other outlet but, 0 star for this outlet , and this will be last time I am visiting this outlet and will urge atleast my near and dear ones that give chances to other outlet rather...
