Beiramar Rooftop Restaurant: A Diamond in the Rough?
While Beiramar Rooftop Restaurant has received some negative reviews, my recent experience suggests it might be a hidden gem. Here's a breakdown:
Initial Hesitation:
We came across some negative reviews online, causing us to hesitate before visiting Beiramar. However, after visiting a few other restaurants with subpar food and crowded ambiences, we decided to give Bieramar a try.
A Fine Dining Experience:
To our surprise, Bieramar offered a proper fine dining experience. The exceptional service and well-presented dishes were a welcome change. But be prepared for a hefty bill
Highlighting the Hits:
Butter Garlic Prawns (₹450): These were exceptional! Perfectly steamed prawns tossed in butter and garlic, allowing the natural flavors to shine. Mutton Hyderabadi Dum Biryani (₹650) : The star of the show! The flavorful biryani with perfectly cooked mutton pieces was a delight. Pomfret Diu Special (₹550) : This local fish dish with a mint-dominant masala was decent, but not mind-blowing.
Beverages:
Budweiser Beer (₹250/bottle): A standard offering, served with an impressively chilled pint mug. Breezer (Cranberry, 4% alcohol): Be mindful of the low alcohol content if you're expecting a strong drink. Service Excellence:
The service at Beiramar deserves special mention. The staff was attentive, professional, and added to the overall dining experience.
Total Bill:
Our bill came to ₹2700, which seems bit high, but as its a one time experience, can be given for the quality of food and service.
Overall:
Despite some negative reviews, Bieramar Rooftop Restaurant impressed us with its fine dining atmosphere, delicious dishes (especially the prawns and biryani), and exceptional service. If you're looking for a more upscale dining experience in Diu, don't be discouraged by the online reviews – give Beiramar a try! Just keep in mind that the Pomfret Diu Special might not be the highlight, and the Breezer has a lower alcohol content.
We went to Diu this June (2024), but some popular spots like Nadia Caves, the Diu Museum, and Pani Kotha were unfortunately closed for renovations. It seems the whole place is getting an upgrade! This must be because the Indian government is investing in developing Diu before it gets overrun with tourists. While it might be a good idea to visit soon to avoid the crowds, just be aware that some attractions might be closed.

Read moreThe staff is really lazy. They are busy with their own things. We ordered Alfredo pasta, chees butter masala and garlic naan. The Alfredo pasta was so sweet like it was made in ice cream. There were no herbs used while making Alfredo pasta.. And they have made the white sauce so watery. We also ordered vodka based cocktails but the waiter said they can't make it as the bartender isn't there. However, after sometime they have served mocktails to other customers who came after us. This was really a discrimination. We were paying for everything still they denied to take our order for mocktails even when we complained that the other customers are getting the mocktails. This is the worst restaurant in Diu and the hospitality is...
