Its ambience is of the confused type. Built over 2 levels, the bottom one is more of a café type, but it also has a bar. The one above is an open roof mostly for one to indulge in hookah, however that again has a bar. While the bar is pretty much dead during afternoons, it isn’t much active during the evenings either. I visited recently on what was a ladies’ night, but there weren’t even many ladies there. The sense of confusion remained in the kind of music they played as well. While on the roof top, they played some hard rock (music not the café), on the floor below they had a karaoke session going on. I mean, why would you have a ladies’ night with a karaoke night and a separate session going on upstairs. It made me feel like while they’re trying to cover all bases at once, they were not able to pull off even one decently. The service is also pretty slow, and on one of my visits I had to wait for 40 minutes just to get a bowl of nachos.
As confusing as everything sounds till now, the menu doesn’t help their cause either. Their food is very good, but there’s not enough of one type. As a café, their menu is complete in itself and has pretty much everything that you would expect in a decent one. However, when it turns itself into a lounge at night, there are not enough munchies or bite sized snacks to eat. Even if you want to order a pizza, there are 4 vegetarian options and 4 non-vegetarian options out of which only 2 contain chicken. Ideally, you would want more variety especially in chicken as most of the non-vegetarian Indians do prefer chicken over anything else. Their burgers are great though. I’ve tried 2 of their burgers till date and liked them all. While you might argue that they’re priced slightly on the higher side, coming with huge portion of potato wedges on the side, you won’t need anything else to fill you up (except for dessert of course, there’s always room for some!). Without any further delay, I have listed down and rated the items that I have tried, for your convenience, as follows:
Smoked Chicken Bruschetta (5/10) – I don’t know if it was my taste or their recipe, but I was expecting something hot and there comes garlic toasts topped with some oddly tasting cold chicken bits. I would surely not recommend this.
Cappuccino (8/10)
4 Cheese Sandwich (8/10)
Crispy Honey Chilli Potatoes (8/10)
Chilli Paneer (8/10)
Pecky Pomegranate and Orange (8.5/10)
Nacho Pencho Non-Veg (8.5/10)
Juicy Lucy Burger (8.5/10)
Chicken Chatkara Pizza (9/10) – Recommended. It had the perfect amount of sauce, and the flavours were like Chicken Lababdar. My taste buds wouldn’t let me stop from taking the last piece even though my stomach was so full that it was crying for me to stop.
Chermoula Chicken Burger (9/10) – Recommended. Little pieces of chicken tossed in a wonderful spicy dressing are the base of this burger, and you just can’t help but savour this delight without even uttering a word.
Crispy Chips (9/10) – Recommended. These are basically the fried chicken strips with potato wedges, and go really well as a bar snack. One thing that struck me about this dish was that it was very reasonably priced, and because of its amazing taste was great value for money.
Butter Chicken Pasta (9/10) – Recommended. How can you ever get a combination of pasta lathered in butter chicken gravy wrong, and this café has definitely not disappointed in that regard. While this comes piping hot, the aroma coming out of it will entice you to jump into it immediately and burn...
Read moreHappened to be in SDA market with a friend which I don’t frequent normally and chanced upon this gem of a place called #NOFILTER
Located on the first and second floor of the SDA market, the lower floor is well equipped with the bar and a dessert counter and the interiors are woody.
The upper floor is the terrace area and this is the place to sit and enjoy in all weathers.
The interiors are not classy but give you a relaxed feeling where you can just chill, relax, cheer and feel young.
Coming to the menu, the menu is basically a café menu in line with offering the fusion food which nowadays is the order of the day for most.
The alcoholics be ready to experience the magic of one of the best mixologists creating the best cocktails behind a well stocked bar counter.
Glancing through the menu, we were a bit indecisive as to what to order as the menu has a variety of offerings from all day breakfast, soups, small bites, wood fired pizzas, pastas, burgers, platters to mains and desserts. No to mention the Shakes and coffee menu.
We finally decided and got started :
Bira bomber
Liit
Whiskey Sour
Bira bomber was an instant hit packed with a punch. Adeadly combination of Bira, Vodka and Tequila. Must have.
Whiskey Sour was well connocted while the Liit was just as perfect as it should be, not like others who mix more of colas than the spirits.
Chicken Quinoa Salad : Delightful start to the meal with fresh lettuce, sun dried tomatoes, Quinoa with lots of balsamic dressing
Nofilter Tender : Rockstar it was. Nicely crumbed, wrapped with bacon, juicy chicken strips, perfectly fried was a treat for the tastebuds. Nicely presented too.
Rocket Pizza : As simple as it can be, straight from the wood fired oven, rocket leaves, grated cheese and sun dried tomatoes, that’s how it should be
No Filter Bom Bom : Deep fried Mars and Snickers served with Vanilla Ice cream and Honey was brsting with flavours with each bite. The presentation can be worked upon for this sinful dessert.
Though we were there in the lunch time but the feel and the people around suggested that this place transforms into a happening party destination as the sun sets, aperfect destination for expats and corporates.
We had a wonderful experience at NoFilter so much so that we ended up spending 3 hours while we were visiting just to have a beer and a snack discussion with a friend.
Special thanks to Mr Virat Chhabra, the marketing head who was kind enough to visit our table and help us out with the menu and take our feedback after the meal. Speaks volumes about how passionate thee management...
Read moreLocated at the entrance of SDA market, on first floor along with its terrace #NoFilter stands outside the box for more than just one reason. With amazing hospitality and humble staff, the place offers various innovative dishes to keep your taste buds engulfed with the amaze.
For cocktail lovers, their "Nofilter Ultra Bomb" is a must to have this summer ! Bleanded with Rum, Orange, and peach syrup, and served with a Bira White on it, is no doubt the best innovative cocktail i have had. The bartender is no doubt experienced one, as the Whiskey Sour served by them is of the perfect blend one would ask for.
But not just the bar, the place is serving excellent pub grub, and delicacies prepared by Chef Mahinder are innovative as well as taste savory. As personal recommendation one must try these few cuisines served by them, Starting with the Laksa Soup, even if you are not that fond of soup, this wont disappoint you. Prefer a Ultra bomb Cocktail, and Nofilter Tender to nibble upon, the cheese and the crispy taste of it would no doubt carry one's thought towards a greater appetite for sure. One may prefer a normal main course, but then why not to try a creative meal of Dal Makhani Pasta!
Even if one has no intention of having a desert, a group must try the Nofilter BomBom, where deepfried Chocolate bar is served with IceCream and accompanied with chocolate fudge and honey. Its a few Calories but a memory one wont regret. Personally i'd thank Mr Krishna as well, who served our table with great delight and humility. Cheers ;) #HighOnKhana #HOK IG: @HighOnKhana Google Guide: bit.ly...
