CHAAYOS- SDA
Well on the previous day I had been to this outlet for the very first time which is located in SDA Market.
Chaayos has launched its monsoon menu and I was invited on its tasting preview session.
Chaayos has variable sitting options and very bright and colorful theme option.
Started with Following
Regular Aam Panna:- Aam panna with flavoured tea sound impressive but aam panna was dominated by the Tea ultimately it doesn’t leave an impact of Aam –Panna. However the quality and quality was good. if you want give a try a different kind of tea it could be your choice. On my scale – it is 3.0/5
Monsoon wala Bhajia – it consists of Paneer Pakora, Mirch Pakora, Onion pakora and served with mint dip ( hari chatney) it was regular stuff what everyone demand during the monsoon with a cup of tea but I found very commonplace doesn’t create a wow experience. 3.0/5
Shahi Tea: Well it is another experimental stuff of Chaayos, Powder substance (Dry fruits chunks and ingredient ) are mixed together with milk – in short a hot version of thandaai is served in the Kulhad (Earthern pot) it is stir and rich look tea- I recommended if you love something a rich and healthy version of tea. On my scale 3.5/5
Kala Khatta from Regular Menu – was cool and refreshing one and recommend product 4.0/5
I had end with sweetnote of tempting –crispy Jalebi was served in Kulhad again. It is recommended product 4.0/5
Meanwhile – Service was satisfactory
P.S. Chaayos has scope of improvement on the scale of...

4/5 - Visit atleast once, ambience is great. Prices for a cup are high, but this is a cafe!
Apart from the local chaiwallas, Cafes are the best places to explore where a good cup of tea is made.
I am a big fan of nicely made chai & actively explore new places to have chai.
I have drank chai from atleast 3 chaayos cafes before this, but this was my first time i was visiting one, that too, alone 🥲
So, instead of my usual exploring self, i just wanted a nice, quiet corner, where i could stare outside & be lost in my thoughts, as my throat rejuvenated. 🤓
And i got just that. The corner seat on just entering the store, was perfect.
I ordered a simple masala chai. The counter guy gave me a beeper, that lit up & beeped, to let me know my order was ready, so i could go & sit anywhere, even upstairs. Since i saw this for the first time, i was excited.
The green cup feels great to hold.
My single & only complain is their prices - they could be a bit less heavy on the pocket. This green cup, 3/4th full, costed me approx Rs 110. I also felt a bit betrayed by the 3/4th cup, cuz I'm habitual of full cup servings & especially when I'm paying a lot. Hopefully they rectify that.
Meanwhile, definitely a place to visit once, definitely great for a chai...
Read moreI usually never give bad reviews to restaurants especially post pandemic, but this outlet has pretty much earned zero stars from my family on all counts. I visited the sda outlet with my family today, since it was a nice windy evening (and i frequent chayos in vasant kunj pretty much thrice a week, coz we love it!) . Upon entering the SDA outlet i see that none of the staff was wearing a mask. Despite me requesting them, the response I got was "koi baat nahi hoti sir, aap order batao" followed by an 'Only take away possible', even tho all other cafes we're open in the lane.
I ordered two kulladh and 1 cutting chai, and i swear to god it tasted like they had poured a really sour acid in my cutting chai, and the kulladh chai had atleast thrice the amount of masala. We politely requested them to return the order and three other staff members came to the counter being aggressive. We returned all three teas and did not ask for our money back coz at this point the evening was already ruined to the core and we felt super unsafe. Rude staff. No covid protocols. And terrible tea! Suggest chayos should shut this outlet as it's bringing the brand value...
