Cafe Sandoz - SDA Market — Restaurant in Delhi

Café Sandoz located in SDA market right opposite IIT campus, went for a dinner here on a weekend. Below is my review for the same:

Ambiance: The place has lot of parking available, the place was packed but we got a table for 4 on the first floor. The ambiance of the place is very nice and modern, the vibe is also good. The music is old school and the lighting is nice for a café. The place has a comfortable vibe which I like.

Service: The staff is fast and nice, no issues with the service from my side they were spot on.

Drinks: The place offers a good bar, though they were out of most of the beers and only had corona when I asked. They also offer 5-pint buckets which they said would be cheaper.

Food: This is an area I would like to comment on, we ordered few dishes:

Raw Papaya Salad: A big disappointment, I understand the place serves affordable food, but the salad was not good. The papaya was not raw, and the peanuts used were the cheap ones and ruined the taste of the salad.

Peri-Peri Fries: No complains here, this was nicely done. Though they were a bit on spicy side if you compare to other places but no complains from my side.

Shanghai Chicken Gyoza: These were decent, not the best I have ever had. But they were nice, though only a suggestion if they can serve it with some spicier sauce it would be great.

Then we order some combos:

Butter Chicken Platter: This platter comes with Butter chicken, two lacha parathas and onions & chutney. The taste of butter chicken was too sweet for my taste, not something that I would recommend or try again.

Chicken Tikka Masala Platter: This was a good dish the Chicken tikka masala was tasty and was served with lacha parathas. No complains about this dish it was one of the best things we eat.

Chicken Platter Black Bean Sauce (Asian): A big disappointment, the rice portion was small & the chicken was too salty. Not something I would recommend.

Cost: Cost for our meal including 2 beers was around 3100 INR which is very reasonable, wish the quality if food would have been good.

Overall the place has a nice vibe and pocket friendly, but the food lacks taste and quality for me. Not sure if I would be recommending this place...

Pathetic experience !!

Extremely slow service , and very poorly handled. Sandoz is our one of favourite place for family dinner. But this outlet was a major let down. Firstly after waiting for almost 20 mins no one was bothered to come and take the order. Secondly person who came was rude and uninterested. Again we were made to wait for so long even for a bottle of water. Thirdly the menu mentioned Malai Chaap with a red sign - when we asked about it - they simply said it’s a printing mistake- this shows their level of professionalism and casualness - they are not even bothered about items mentioned in Their menu card.

After all this we had to wait for 40 mins for Our order - which when served was not in correctl quantity. They served us laccha paranthas instead of naan - when we pointed out the manager lady got us naan and said that this mistake will be adjusted however later in the bill when we pointed out the lady sarcastically said that okay if you don’t pay then it will be deducted from the waiter’s salary!! That’s blatant moral blackmailing. Moreover as per the lady manager all this happened because of rush hour, to quote “ Please don’t visit on weekends!! “ What an amazing business philosophy !!

I visited with my friend at Sandos sda between 8.30 pm- 9.45 pm on 29/07/2023 and occupied outside table . we faced harassment and torture Experience. We ordered chicken and dal makhani with garlic naan . While eating my friend realised something stuck in his mouth . When we saw it carefully it was long 3 hairs in his mouth. We left the food immediately but Instant of realising their mistake and deficiency In service committed by restaurant they started giving threats to my friend and myself and further called 2 cops for their help and support who also threaten us. All the incident is captured in cctv cameras of the restaurant and outside on road . In all this we faced harassment and threats from restaurant and cops and left without eating any food .

Request to DCP South Delhi It is a request to DCP south that police is for help not to threaten the complainant and support the accused. An action may be taken against the cops who just on personal request of sandos came to threaten us. As it was very late so we preferred to leave . everything is captured in the surrounding cameras and the and same is a matter of record.
