Terrible food and service. Moreover, the layout of the store is also nonsensical.
They have different counters for payment of chai, samosa, sweets, etc and this is something you are only informed about once you wait a long time in line (because the cashiers are so busy chatting with each other instead of doing their jobs efficiently). And only after taking my order did they register that I had told them I’ll be paying in cash. So then they made me reorder at a different counter which again took time because they were chatting with each other. When I asked them to please speed up a little, they nodded and continued their conversation. Once that was done, I had to run to a whole different counter to order the chai for my family. AND THEN when picking up the samosa I got the imli chutney at one counter and had to go across to the other end of the restaurant for green chutney. Please make it make sense???!
Moreover the sooji puri of the pani puri order was too thick, and we ordered two plates but only got the pani and aloo for one plate. We complained but they did not bring the remainder of the order. The dosa we ordered was also cold and not fresh at all.
The cups for the water were also stained with oily fingerprints. We also ordered aloo tikki chaat and the spoon they gave was oily as well. Clearly they do not wash their utensils properly.

I went there on a Sunday at around 11:30 and asked for Dhokla - not ready it will take 15 minutes at least, paneer cutlet - sir only 4 pieces are there, paneer pakoda - sir only 5 pieces are there, pyaaz kachori - sir only 2 pieces are there, kachori - sir only 1 piece we have, gulab jamun 1kg - sir this is a company pack which contains 500gms gulab jamun and 500gms sugar syrup. I was wondering why they are running the outlet when they don’t have anything with them in stock.
Then out of options I asked the staff member for 1 kg sandwich dhokla which is the only option they had at the moment as it was costlier. The staff member acknowledged and made me wait. I waited for 5-7 minutes and then noticed the same staff billing a customer who came after me. I was like why the hell he is not billing my items before entertaining any other customer. On intervening, his reply was that he had already informed dhokla would take 15 minutes, I immediately reminded him that I had already ordered 1 kg sandwich dhokla instead of dhokla to which he rudely replied to get it billed at the next counter as the next counter and wait as the next counter was occupied already.

After 4 years abroad, I returned to Haldiram with fond memories of its impeccable service, delicious food, and warm ambience. Sadly, my recent visit was a shocking disappointment.
Service Issues: The staff, particularly at the cash counter and South Indian counter, were uninterested, rude, and borderline dismissive. They seemed visibly annoyed by basic requests, acted impatient, and showed zero willingness to assist. Customer service was absent altogether – it felt like we were inconveniencing them by merely being there.
Food Quality Decline: The food, once Haldiram’s pride, has plummeted in quality. Dishes tasted bland, reheated, or carelessly prepared. Even classics like aloo tikki and rasgulla lacked their signature freshness.
Ambience: The restaurant felt neglected – sticky tables, uncleaned floors, and a chaotic atmosphere. The charm that once made Haldiram a family favorite is long gone.
Final Thoughts: As a longtime loyal customer, this experience was heartbreaking. Haldiram used to set the standard for Indian hospitality and cuisine, but now it’s a glaring example of how complacency ruins reputations. I will not return and cannot recommend...
