Madan Cafe is the standard hippie place since the 90s. Madan jee has seen so many hippies in his lifetime and some have stuck here ever since. There are regulars at the cafe and all sort of curious characters from around the world. The food is average but very good given its price. The interiors are a strange bright red but the five stars are for the charm of the place. Everyone knows madan cafe in paharganj. It is centrally located. All sorts of characters come here and make friendships at your own risk. You can smoke at the place but it is not encouraged by the owners. Read moreWe had a late morning flight so came here to catch up for breakfast. Looking at reviews, with high hopes. Ordered a few items, here is my take.
Cheese grilled sandwich: The bread had cheese, but in the borders. Not the whole inside was filled with cheese ! A first time for me.
Tomato cheese omelette: A tomato /green chilli omelette, with a cheese slice simply placed above. No salt, no pepper (given separately). Ah, too bland for me .
Mocha pot coffee: Decent black coffee, could be hotter.
Masala chai: Okayish, could be hotter.
Club sandwich: What was this ? Thankfully, my wife didn't have a bite of it. She doesn't eat eggs and I found an omelette inside the layers. This is nowhere mentioned in the menu !!
Banana Custard: Yes, we were informed this will come as hot custard and we were prepared for it. But all the ga-ga over this dish seems inflated. It is an okayish dish, nothing notable. Would recommend them to serve chilled, it would fare better.
A suggestion: Keep aloo Paratha in breakfast. So that people can have...
Read moreWe spent a few days in Delhi at both the beginning and end of our India trip. I rarely revisit restaurants when I'm traveling because travel is all about exploring new things. However, Madan Café is the exception!!! We enjoyed EVERY meal here, and will do the same on our next trip!❤️ There are plenty of things to choose from on the menu. I love their Indian food🔥, but if you can't handle the heat, there are many options as well as breakfast all day.😊 Need travel/tourist advice...ask them! They are very knowledgeable, and happy to help you with any of your plans. I've never felt so welcome and so at home in a foreign country. Although my trip was coming to an end😔, I looked forward to returning to Delhi so I could spend more time at Madan Cafe with my new friends🧡. Good food, good prices,...
