Much has been said about Maruchi since it opened, almost a celebrated welcome given that they have a Teppanyaki Grill. We waited a while before we gave in and visited the restaurant because we weren’t sure of how it’ll live up to the hype and our expectations from Teppanyaki Grills.

We visited on a Saturday night and had the Fixed Menu - one meat and one seafood. They start with Pickled Vegetables, crackers, a small salad and soup. We didn’t have the soup, the crackers were great, the other two were mediocre.

Next came starters. Grilled Bhetki Fish and Chicken with a spicy’ish sauce. Both were good, not as good as we’d hoped.

For Main Course, we took: Chicken in Black Bean Sauce, which was great Fish in Chilli Oyster Sauce, which was average at best Prawns in Lemon Butter Garlic Sauce, which was a decent dish but more a starter than a main (our call this) Lamb in Black Pepper Sauce, which was disappointing Fried Rice without mushrooms, which were excellent Udon Noodles with Chicken, which was a good dish

Dessert was 3 Ice Creams - Vanilla, Hazelnut and Coffee. Hazelnut was awful.

The Fixed Menu also includes one cocktail per person. We had a to-order Penicillin, which was great, a Tiger’s Eye, which was superb, and then a Jasper, which was also great.

Overall, the place has a great vibe, good cocktails, but it lacks finesse. There are enough and more gaps in the way the place is made and run. The menus, for example, were worn out and stained. There was cutlery with stains too. Not to mention that I called twice to get a reservation but didn’t get a callback as promised, and had to book via EazyDiner. It took 4 prompts to get a refill of water too.

All in all, it was a mediocre experience. Did not live up to the hype. It is a somewhat entertaining experience given the Life Grill and the Great Cocktails, so go for that without much expectations on the food front. And yes, we’d go back because of the (relative) Value-for-money proposition as compared to the benchmark for Teppanyaki Grills...

"Have you been to Maruchi? God! Its amazing", gushed my friend. So, I decided to give it a try. Conclusion in one word - pathetic. Went in, and the first sight was maids tending to the baba log.... eewww... I was given the impression that this was a lounge with great finger food and good music.... so tiny kids being fussed over by maids was the 1st shock. Okay... I moved on. Place is divided into 3 parts: the first is the al fresco sitting, the second is the indoor sitting, and finally, the live grill. Opted for the indoor sitting. Reminded me of a railway station! Anyways, in comes an illiterate staff... "Do you have kingfisher?" "Nopes, we only keep imported beer..... Bira and Corona...." wanted to tell to the pip squeak that bira is an Indian company run by some Jain 😁..... decided to remain calm and ordered club soda with a wedge of lime. Then ordered for food.... started with wok stirred shitake mushrooms..... Rehydrated mushrooms in thick sugary sauce sprinkled with sesame seeds - typical Chinglish recipe available at all "Chinese " dhabas with the difference that potatoes got replaced with fancy named mushroom. Then came the dumplings - stuck to the paper put on the base. The bamboo container was stinking..... and finally, the pièce de résistance, uncle with a burgeoning belly in track suit gawking at me continuously 🤣

Is this place a low-end restaurant/dhaba or a lounge bar or a nightclub 🤔..... they definitely have an identity crisis.... and they come a cropper on all fronts.

And what is this thing with delhi restaurants which think employing people from the eastern part of India is going to make them look authentic Chinese place 🫢...... It's downright racist

Did I mention, Sushi.... oh well.... Japanese would commit hara-kiri after eating it.

The only good thing - the valet did a fine job at parking my precious wheels. Chap...

Probably the only tepenyaki bar in delhi and my word this place dosent disappoint... if you come to a place like this and do not sit at the tepenyaki table... I fell sorry for you... the food is out of this world... and we were even more intrigued with the skilled chefs who were performing and cooking for us at the same time...the anticipation of what's being cooked was so great we just couldn't help ourselves.... apart from the tepenyaki dishes the sour dough nepotalian pizza are also highly recommended especially the al fungi and the BBQ pork... chef durgesh and chef gulam are pure masters of there craft... all under the guidance of the sous chef Shyam and head chef phankri..... the service here was amazing.... even though we were 10 people the service staff was really prompt to take care of all our needs.... that also included accommodating a number of phones with different type of chargers .... these little things go a long way..... and one even get me started on the signature cocktail and mocktails ...... 1 helping will never be enough..... highly recomend the moonstone in cocktail and pomegranate and bubblegum mocktail...... could never get enough of those 2..... if you are in delhi and do not visit maruchi you would be committing a...

The asian restaurant overlooking the golf course provides great ambience for your date nights or get togethers. With ample seating both indoors and outdoors the place dishes out good food as well. The menu is asian and italian with good variety of dimsums, sushis, pasta ,baos and pizzas. The bar is stocked with liquor of your choice to spice up the evenings We ordered amethyst which is a vodka base cocktail with lavender, twisted moscow mule which was again a vodka base. We found the amethysy too sweet for our liking the moscow mule was good and refreshing. With mix of salmon and prawn sushi the flavour was good in both. The spicy chicken dimsums were average, but juicy. The chicken terayaki skewers were a disappoint, being too sweet on the sauce specially when the menu says special spicy sauce in description. Next on order was prwan tempura bao which were good, crunchy prawns with fluffy bao and great flavours. In dessert we ordered the signature orange bao with passion fruit center, it should have more custard filling since we could hardly taste it and were just left with taste of bao in mouth. Over all a good place with great ambiance , the cocktails and some dishes tend to be on sweeter side of the Platte

It was casual dinner at maruchi wid some friends. I’ve been to this place 2-3 times before and this place is upgrading all the time with their food, service, bar and decor🙌 which is very nice. This place never disappoints, amazing range of sushi rolls, teppanyaki, drinks and of-course desserts 🍨 🥰 Chef Robin does magic with his hands. Customisation on the top. Some dishes were out of the menu as well. Our server Chandan negi gave us a very good glimpse of the menu and we were very comfortable with the entire team of maruchi. We ordered Asparagus sushi, 10/10 Prawn tempura sushi, 8/10 Enoki sushi 11/10 Lamb celery dimsum 11/10 Pizza primavera 9/10 Teppanyaki ( udon noodles with crispy chilly sauce) 11/10 Pull me up tiramisu 12/10 Banana brownie with coconut ice cream (the softest brownie i had in a while). The bar was also very posh and stylish Deepak curated whisky sour and picante with some special twist on the top. Some mocktails as well which were also nice. They served us with so much respect, love, enthusiast and kindness that we can’t wait to come back to this place again. The quality of the ingredients used, way of cooking and magic of-course all top notch.
