July 6, 2025 – Day 3 in India

We’ve been traveling since June 5—cruising through Europe, staying in hotels, and eating mostly cruise or hotel meals along the way. It’s been a beautiful journey, but food hasn’t always felt personal or deeply satisfying. When we arrived in Delhi two days ago, my dearest friend Li told me I had to try Nagaland’s Kitchen. She even made a reservation for us that same evening, but I had a full-day salon appointment and couldn’t make it. The next day, I hoped we could finally go, but our kids were tired and preferred to stay in. So we ate at the hotel restaurant instead. Then today, same story—the kids just wanted to relax in the room, so we ordered room service for them. I was a little disappointed… but my husband lifted my spirits by offering to order delivery from Nagaland’s Kitchen for me. I was so excited.

Li had mentioned that the restaurant delivers directly, which I really appreciated over using a third-party app. I called and asked for Ravi, as she had suggested. He wasn’t available, but Ashish kindly took over and helped us place the order.

We got everything Li had recommended: pork ribs, fish wrapped in bamboo shoot, chicken raja mircha, two servings of rice, and a side of raja mircha chutney—because I’m a chilihead and couldn’t resist.

Ashish said the food would arrive in about 40 minutes. While we waited, I was reminded of a special memory—over eight years ago, my other dear friend Yang had taken me to this very restaurant during our previous trip to India. We had spent the whole day together and shared a beautiful meal that I’ll never forget. It made me even more excited for dinner tonight.

When the food arrived, Santosh called from the hotel lobby. Everything was packed with so much care—sealed securely, nothing had leaked, and everything was still piping hot. I was truly impressed.

And the food? Absolutely incredible. The pork ribs were tender and flavorful, the fish in bamboo shoot had that signature tangy earthiness I’ve come to love in Naga cuisine, and the chicken raja mircha was bold, spicy, and deeply satisfying. The raja mircha chutney was pure fire—in the best way. Every bite was rich in flavor and comfort.

My husband and I shared the meal. He finished quickly, while I took my time, savoring each bite. After so many hotel and cruise meals, this was the first one in weeks that truly felt soulful. It reminded me why I fell in love with Naga food in the first place. It felt like coming home—even though it’s not the food I grew up with, it’s the food my heart connects with.

Deep gratitude to Ashish and Santosh for their warmth and care, and to the entire team at Nagaland Kitchen for maintaining such beautiful standards. And to my wonderful friends Li and Yang—thank you for leading me back to this experience. Tonight’s meal was more than just dinner. It was comfort, memory, and joy—all...

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Nagaland's Kitchen, and I must say it was an absolutely fantastic culinary experience. This restaurant, located in New Delhi, masterfully brings the vibrant flavors and rich cultural heritage of Nagaland to the dining table, leaving a lasting impression on every guest.

From the moment I entered Nagaland's Kitchen, I was captivated by the warm and welcoming ambiance. The restaurant beautifully combines modern aesthetics with traditional Naga elements, creating a charming and comfortable space that is perfect for enjoying a memorable meal. The attention to detail in the decor and overall ambiance truly reflects the pride and passion the restaurant has for Nagaland's culture.

The star of the show, of course, was the food. Nagaland's Kitchen offers an extensive menu that showcases the diverse and delectable cuisine of Nagaland. With a wide array of vegetarian and non-vegetarian options, there is something to please every palate. Each dish was prepared with great care, using authentic Naga ingredients and traditional cooking techniques.

The flavors in every dish were simply extraordinary. From the robust and aromatic smoked pork curry to the flavorful Axone (fermented soybean) dishes, each bite was a delightful journey through the rich and unique culinary traditions of Nagaland. The use of local spices and herbs added depth and complexity to the flavors, creating a harmonious balance that truly impressed me.

The staff at Nagaland's Kitchen were not only knowledgeable but also incredibly friendly and attentive. They were more than willing to guide me through the menu, explaining the ingredients and offering recommendations based on my preferences. Their genuine enthusiasm and passion for the cuisine of Nagaland further enhanced the overall dining experience.

Furthermore, the portion sizes were generous, ensuring that guests leave satisfied and with a happy palate. The presentation of each dish was visually appealing, showcasing the attention to detail and culinary artistry of the chefs.

I was also pleased to see the restaurant's commitment to sustainability and supporting local producers. Nagaland's Kitchen prides itself on sourcing ingredients locally, contributing to the local economy and promoting sustainability practices. This commitment to ethical sourcing and sustainability adds another layer of appreciation for the restaurant.

In conclusion, Nagaland's Kitchen is a culinary gem that showcases the incredible flavors and cultural heritage of Nagaland. With its warm ambiance, exceptional service, and a menu that is a true culinary adventure, it is a must-visit for anyone seeking an authentic and memorable dining experience. I highly recommend Nagaland's Kitchen to all food enthusiasts and those curious to explore the rich tapestry of...

Let me write a detailed review by taking my time. While going through few exciting places, I found out videos made by few food vloggers and decided to visit this place with out any miss

1.The place is located in a very descent area where there is no issue for parking and other noises 2.Interior is well decorated with bamboo logs and the ambience is really well designed 3.Well dressed staff with politeness and smile on their faces make us feel like we are at home and not at hotel

Ordered pork ribs first and my mouth is watering still after it's name.. It is well served with salad and chutney /sauce(I don't remember the name of it). First bite itself decides the taste of entire dish and it is such a well prepared dish that you won't forget it ever. Well served and well prepared with proper masala and other things. This place is famous for this and trust me you won't get this pork dishes and also the taste they give anywhere else..

Second item was pork momos and I have not tasted such a wonderful momo till today here, it is as soft as icecream and pork is well cooked. It was served with three types of chutney and I believe raja mirch is one among them.. It deserves 5 star.. Well served, piping hot and mouth watering chutney combo

Third item was Naga thali(veg), it was really colourful and served with a soup, chutney, fry, rice and bamboo shoot dish and soup.. Excited about this as well.. Well maintained spice and nothing to point out as a flaw.

Last item and never ever miss red rice pudding dessert.. This is a really special one and you won't get the taste anywhere else.. Don't miss it at all.. If you miss this, mark my words you will regret

Over all 5 star service, Mr. Vipin was the one who served and other person was also assisting, both are really calm, cool and self Composed... 5star food, 5 star ambience, 5 star service.... Dont miss this place guys, as a hardcore foodie, I suggest this place always to anyone who love food and who love trying new dishes. Don't miss this at all and this is not a promotion review, I'm writing wholeheartedly after paying the bill from...

I haven't enjoyed a meal so much in a while. Despite friends' urgings to visit Nagaland Kitchen, I'd somehow never gotten down to it. Neither of us are very big eaters, but I was determined to taste my favourite dishes - pork momos, mixed nonveg thukpa and smoked pork chilli. The restaurant was beautifully done up for Christmas and a live trio was playing when we entered. Because the place is small, the music was too loud and the SO and I spent dinner either shouting over the music or resorting to sign language. Which may be just as well. Another off note was an extremely well meaning waiter who forgot that we didn't want chilli in the food and tried fobbing off the blame on the chef!! But the food is glorious. And the liquor list varied. The trio's choice of music was perfect too. We enjoyed the most fresh pork momos and smoked pork chilli I've ever had. The momo dumplings were full, juicy and luscious with the meat so soft, fresh and flavorful, not hard lumps like other places. The bowl of thukpa is enough for two and the smoked pork chilli was spot on and fabulous though too spicy for non chilly eaters. Altogether a hit with me and a firm favourite. I'm going back for more soon. Knocked off two stars for the waiter though who had the gall to say he was too busy after mucking up our order twice.
